My only suggestion is I wish each person got a short rib instead of splitting the short rib for two people. It was that good and each person would leave a little more full.
The pacing was incredible, starting with a fresh Lobster cocktail with citrus, garnished with edible flowers, followed by a round of snacks that included caviar and an amazing oxtail beignet. The service really stood out here—they even brought hot towels after the finger foods, which was a classy touch.
Some of the standouts were the Squash Cappelletti (the truffle shavings were easily worth the extra cost) and I personally really liked the Grilled Blue Prawns, which were served with a house-made Jamaican coco bread that was fantastic. For the main, the Wagyu Strip and Short Rib duo was cooked perfectly – the short rib was super tender and paired well with what I think they called an “Allium tea”, a broth that tasted exactly like a rich French onion soup to me.
To top it all off, the staff surprised us with a “Congratulations” pastry written in chocolate alongside our Hazelnut and Prune dessert. The wine pairings recommended to me by our server (specifically the Chardonnay and the Mediterranean blend) were spot on. My fiancee also really enjoyed her rose. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, this is it.
A huge highlight of our visit was Daniel, our waiter, who elevated the experience even further. His professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge of the menu were outstanding. Daniel anticipated our needs perfectly, offered insightful recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the night. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor are exactly what world-class service should be.
We were also celebrating our anniversary, and the team went above and beyond to make it memorable. The special care, thoughtful touches, and genuine kindness made us feel truly celebrated and added an extra layer of magic to an already incredible evening.
Congratulations to the entire team on this incredible achievement. We will absolutely be returning and recommending this restaurant to everyone looking for an exceptional fine-dining experience.
Food:
Nothing was particularly memorable. The first course was the highlight, but even two days later I couldn’t tell you what it was. Several dishes were noticeably under-seasoned, and overall the meal was completely forgettable.
Service:
The pacing was surprisingly slow given the small size of the courses. Our server forgot a cocktail order, and it took over 15 minutes before we even saw her again to mention it. The dining room wasn’t full, so I can’t blame it on being busy.
Another staff member asked us a question that we couldn’t hear over a very loud neighboring table. When we politely asked him to repeat himself, he rolled his eyes and walked away.
At $185 per person, there are many other restaurants in Philly far more deserving of your time and money.
The inside was pretty dimly lit so would recommend for more fancy date romantic vibes. Did have to go up a set of stairs to get to the dining area – seems like there’s also a bar downstairs. Whole experience took over 2 hours so budget some time for everything.
