English atmosphere with great food – from traditional fish & chips, to curry and steak dishes.
I have been visiting the pub for nearly 20 years on a WEEKLY basis with my mates.
Parking is not well lit and we have had a few incidents. But all in all it’s a great place for us.
TV location and programming is not great, and it loses the draw as a sports bar. But what it lacks in sporting interest it makes up with food & drink.
The outdoor seating is fantastic and generally quite crowded.
Suggest reservations if one prefers outdoor seating.
Highly recommend

The Red Lion offers a wonderfully comfortable and consistent British pub experience that manages to surprise you with a unique culinary flair. Stepping inside, the atmosphere is immediately cozy, often charmingly decorated to match the current season, making it a great spot for both regulars and newcomers.
Food: Unbeatable Fish & Chips and Indian Infusion
The standout meal here is undoubtedly the Friday Fish and Chips special—it truly cannot be beat in terms of quality and value. Be warned: the full order is absolutely massive, so ordering the half portion is usually more than enough for a satisfying meal.
What makes The Red Lion truly interesting is its subtle Indian flair woven into the British menu. While it remains a pub at heart, the flavor tones often carry a hint of South Asian influence, providing a delicious and unexpected twist to traditional fare. Beyond the specials, the overall menu boasts a good variety of satisfying options.
Service and Practicalities
The staff contributes positively to the relaxed environment; they are consistently friendly without being overly attentive, allowing you to enjoy your meal and company in peace.
When it comes to practical matters, parking is plentiful, which is a huge plus for any popular spot. However, if you are expecting deep discounts during Happy Hour, you might be slightly disappointed, as the savings tend to be minimal (around $1 off beers).
Overall, The Red Lion is a highly recommended spot for great comfort food, a warm atmosphere, and that subtle, intriguing Indian dimension that elevates the standard pub fare.
Speaking of beer, what a selection! From local craft brews to international favorites, there’s something for everyone. Perfect for sipping while catching a futbol match.
I ordered the full English breakfast, and it was perfect, savory, hearty, and delicious. Everything was cooked just right, from the sausage and eggs to the grilled tomatoes and beans. Honestly, the best I’ve had outside the UK. My friend got the fish and chips, and it was equally impressive, crispy, golden batter, flaky fish, and perfect fries on the side. We were both seriously impressed.
The atmosphere was electric, especially with the Chelsea FC match playing on the big screens. A home for Blues fans, full of energy, camaraderie, and cheer (and maybe a little chanting!).
If you’re looking for great food, better beer, and a fun vibe, especially during match day, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back!
