IM NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE!!!!!! This restaurant’s Quality of food have declined so badly, I ordered rice & peas with oxtail and stew chicken, let me start by saying this use to be my go-to Jamaican restaurant but not anymore I refuse to spend my hard earned money on oxtails that have 90% fat on it, it was hard to chew sadly They don’t seem to be cleaning the meats properly. The rice was not cooked well there was hard rice grains throughout the rice & peas. The rice had absolutely no flavor I couldn’t even taste the coconut milk in it. I was so disappointed. $46 of trash!!!

One thing that will always frustrate me is bad customer service, especially at a Black-owned establishment where Caribbean people go specifically to support one another.

At 3:07 PM, I called and spoke with a woman to place a pickup order: one fried fish and one oxtail with rice and peas and plantains. I was told plantains are not served until 5 PM, so I said that was fine and switched the side to steamed vegetables. She clarified it would be steamed cabbage, and I agreed.

I then asked my father to pick up the food. He arrived at 3:39 PM, more than 30 minutes later, and the staff acted as though they had no idea what he was talking about. He called me asking if I had actually placed the order because they were telling him they didn’t have it.

I asked him to put me on speaker so I could speak with them. When I asked the woman why the order wasn’t ready after being placed over 30 minutes earlier, she rudely replied, “Well you didn’t talk to me. I don’t answer phones.”

Excuse me?

I don’t know your internal process, but I do know I called and spoke with someone for about two minutes placing that order. I certainly didn’t imagine it.

I initially told my father to just leave, but since he was already there he asked them to make the order. I repeated the order to the woman and the call ended.

I then called back and got the same woman again, as I recognized her voice. I explained the situation and she sighed deeply before saying, “Let me see because I’m here now.” She put the phone down, I heard rummaging in the background, and then she came back and said, “He already placed the order.”

Ma’am, that was not what I asked. The question was why the order was never placed and ready for pickup when I called it in over 30 minutes earlier.

Her response was simply, “Oh well I don’t know, but the order is made now.”

At that point I told her I would be leaving a review.

If I could leave zero stars for service, I would. The only reason this review is getting three star is because the food actually tastes good and they’re a Caribbean restaurant.

However, customer service matters. Being rude and dismissive when a customer politely asks about their order is completely unnecessary. A simple acknowledgment or accountability would have prevented this entire situation.

My favorite Jamaican restaurant, Maam Jamaican Restaurant on Ives Dairy, closed and I was really sad about it. I also really miss the sweet oxtail flavor they used to have. I’ve been craving oxtails, and since they’re closed and I wouldn’t be cheating on them anymore, so I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the seasoning wasn’t too good on either dish, but the food was very fresh.

Unfortunately, I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant, and I will also be sharing this experience on other platforms.

I wish i could have gave it ZEROOO stars omg i can cryyyyyyy right now when i say the food was so hard and disgusting, The rice was stuck together burned and beyond nasty the chicken was old and soggy everything was nasty, I spent over 35 dollars just to be disappointed once again because this is not the first time, I do not recommend jamaican house in Miami Gardens if i had my car i would have drove there but then again nothing gets done when you make a complaint, I wouldn’t even feed this food to a animal it’s very foul and disrespectful, Somebody in that restaurant really neede to be held with accountability, People work hard for there momey just to be going to waste, Jamaican house you lost a loyal customer i will never ever return

3.4⭐️ When you take into consideration everything; the price, the 24hour service, and the quantity of food — this place is great! Everything was juicy, full of flavor, and tasted good. The prices are super lovely. The service (around 7 PM on a Tuesday) was friendly. Unfortunately, all of my friends who ate oxtail had stomach issues, and some even threw up. The rest of us who had chicken was okay. The juices were great too. I just don’t trust that there isn’t as much sugar as they told us (we asked about it). Wow, what an interesting place. We ate at the location, and that line never died. Very popular spot! Give it a try.

Arrived to have brunch but what we wanted was not ready until after 1230pm so we went shopping and came back. When we arrived after 1230pm, there was no wait but the item we wanted would not be ready for another 30 minutes. We accepted and placed our order. We let the cashier know that we would be dining in and took the fritters to the table to wait for the rest of the food.
The fritters were excellent great texture, flavor, and portion.
The curry conch was delicious and fresh.
The oxtail stew was savory, tender, and balanced well with the rice that has a hint of coconut.
The meals came with cabbage and we ordered some fried dough.
The food will bring you back but the service is inattentive and leaves much to be desired. Improving customer satisfaction would go a long way to make it necessary to expand.

The wait at this restaurant is about 15 minutes to order, followed by another 15-20 minutes for your food to be ready. The service is friendly, and everything is made fresh. The food is incredibly flavorful—I had the jerk chicken, rice and peas, and chicken soup, and every bite was packed with spice and taste.
