Our first time there after wanting to try them for awhile. The owner greeted us, seated us, and brought us out a sample of the meats. We ordered the pig skins and deep fried shrooms as appetizers. The pig skins were the best I’ve had. We got the buffalo wrap and pulled pork Mac & cheese but substituted the pork for brisket. Phenomenal. The sauces were good too. Fries were the best I’ve had. We got the banana pudding cake slice to go and it was so good.

It was only 67$, which for the amount of food, drink and dessert we got, was really good!

Will definitely be back.

My husband and I both enjoyed our experience at Smokin Momma’s. We prefer to avoid the typical dining rush hours, and are not fans of live bands or karaoke – which it looks like Smokin Momma’s is designed to host – so I’m glad we went during a less popular hour. Our server, (Marissa?) was prompt, friendly and had a warm energy about her. Our food was well cooked, and portions were filling. The baked sweet potato and smoked meats were perfection. My husband favors craft beers, and Smokin Momma’s did not disappoint. We will definitely be returning.
*Be sure to get dessert – cakes made by local baker, Gingerella’s Sweets!*

So after trying this place and spending over $60 (w/ tip) on myself purchasing an appetizer and a meal I would only return to this place if I’m coming for appetizers or a beer. I did their charcuterie board which was $35 it had brisket, pulled pork, ribs, wings, two sides and bread. Out of all that I will tell you that the bread and the mac and cheese was the best part and the only thing good. All the meats were tough and flavorless. Buffalo wings were plain dry and tough. The brisket pulled pork and ribs just tasted like smoked plain meat. There was no flavoring other than that which really ruined it because there’s nothing special about this and for the cost of the meal I am extremely disappointed and hate that I wasted that much money to be. I had a friend there that had had the place before I let him sample all the meats as well and he said ” yep it’s the same as last time “… So it seems to be a pretty regular thing to be this bad. They have a really good deal on drinks and appetizers but other than that I recommend staying away from their meats unless they’re mixed with something else like cheese….no joke.

I decided to give this restaurant a try since it’s conveniently located (I was at the mall earlier).

I noticed when I was parking, their lot is kinda tight, but there’s plenty of parking across the street from the mall’s lot. Also, eventhough it was in the 30s, there were staff still outside attending to the smoker, so props to them suffering the cold to keep the bbq flowing.

On my way inside I noticed it advertised on the entrance door there’s apparently live music from 7pm-9pm by local artists on the weekends. I think it’s great they’re promoting live and local music. I could imagine the right band filling the place. I asked my server if they ever had to move tables for the crowds, but she said they didn’t which surprised me because the stage isn’t what I’d consider large, but it’s suitable. Also, country music is played throughout the dining area. I’m guessing the staff are pretty burnt on it since I could hear dance music coming from the kitchen later, haha

I was seated at a booth (which I appreciate), but the only clean one at the time was closest to the entrance. As people were coming in and out, I was feeling the cold, so I think they should consider maybe putting some glass or plexiglass up around that table. My waitress allowed me to pick anywhere else I wanted to sit though so that was nice. The overall service was perfectly fine. Any questions or recommendations I had regarding the menu were answered.

I did use the restroom after ordering and the only negative I could mention there was the stall I chose was pretty dimly lit. I can imagine people missing the mark in there easily after a few too many. Otherwise, typical restroom.

My food was brought out impressively fast (like I blew my nose and washed my hands and only sat back down at my seat), but it could depend on what is ordered, I’m not sure. It felt as if my food was waiting for my return to my seat.

The ribs were great. The bones were falling out of the meat and the flavor of the sauce was good. The only thing I’ll mention is, while it wasn’t too big a deal for me, others may not like that there were some burnt edges here and there. But the amount is plentiful, I wasn’t able to finish them.

My loaded baked potato was what I was really looking forward to the most cause I just had a hankering. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I did ask my server if they could use shredded cheese instead of nacho/queso cheese. And I feel like they did that, but it was the bacon that really didn’t do it for me. The bacon was smoked strips, that I practically had to break up myself. Plus, some pieces were burnt so badly it was as if I was trying to eat sand for a few bites. It was very gritty and almost had me wanting to spit bites into a napkin. Normally, dry foods or a little burn/char here and there doesn’t bother me, but this was bad even for me. Besides that, the potato was huge, I couldn’t finish it, it was that much. But next time, I’ll get the mashed potatoes or potato salad if I have a hankering.

The mac and cheese was ok, just run of the mill. Only difference was the white cheese, I’m assuming it was American. I don’t remember finishing it or not.

My total without tax was $23, 20 was the meal, 3 was the loaded baked potato choice (I only drink water). With taxes and tip, I paid $30. Prices are subjective, considering the portions were so much I couldn’t finish them, I’d say the pricing is fair. But, considering the overall tastes of the food, I’d almost argue that.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t recommend giving smokin’ mommas a try, I’m just saying I wouldn’t recommend their loaded baked potato. Overall, it was just ok for me.

I ordered the smokehouse duo with brisket, pulled chicken and sides of green beans, Mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes. The food came out lukewarm, basically cold! The brisket was okay but lacked flavor. The pulled chicken was dry but the sauces provided helped! The Mac and cheese was the strangest texture but had ok flavor. The green beans tasted straight out of a can but they weren’t bad! The loaded mashed potatoes were pretty good, but again everything was cold so I nor did my sister finish our food. Our waitress was fantastic I think her name was Calrena or something alike! Very sweet and upbeat! She offered me dessert on the house and I chose cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake i have probably ever had!!!! I loved it!!! It had icing on it which was different but delicious!! Overall I probably wouldn’t visit again unfortunately.

It was super good. I got the mountain man feast and I do believe I’m not gonna eat the rest of the evening. I am sooo full. Waitress was super nice and friendly. Weird seeing a place that dead on a Sunday. We will be back.

Went on a Monday. Good food but obviously not a lot of people. Friday and Saturday they have a band for 2 hours which I can imagine it being a hopping place. Brisket was good but not as tender as most I e tried. Pulled pork was very good. House bbq had a little spice to it which I do love. Therefore it was good. Potato salad was a bit runny but using red potato’s made up for it. Great taste. Wings were very good as they should be. Chicken egg roll was not very good but it’s not their fault, I just don’t like egg roll. Wife had fried bologna and it was huge. Very good. Main entree came out minutes after appetizer but being as they weren’t busy I understand. All in all I’ll be back again. I do love real bbq.

We had a really nice waitress. Service was good. I had the Jolene burger, onion rings and potato salad. The burger and onion rings were really good. The potato salad was terrible. I really hated that I paid $4 for it.

Tried this place for dinner. Had live music, kinda cool. Way to loud. Couldnt even hear yourself think. The food….worst bbq you can have. Food was plain, cold, tough. Mac and cheese was the same as the bobevens in the plastic container from the grocery store. No seasoning. Wing, got the hottest flavor, they were sweeter than my sweet tea. Pulled pork was cold and dry. Ribs were tough, dry and attempted to cover that up with sauce. You’re better off getting a McRib from McDonald’s would be better. Granted the server did discount them from out bills but I dont know how much. Party of 8 people, noone finished their food, noone wanted to go boxed, wasnt even worth attempting desserts.

The food was delicious and the employees were all nice. There were a TON of gnats and flies (they even had fly traps hanging), so that was gross and annoying trying to keep swatting them all away from our food. We will return because, like I said, we all enjoyed our food – just hopefully something helps to keep the pests away so we (and everyone else) doesn’t have to deal with ’em again. We liked the sign saying, “This is not a fast food restaurant. We make your food fresh. Please be patient!”
