Looking for a bite before another metal show at The Bourbon ! We haven’t been to Honest Abe’s in ages. Years ago our extended family used to pick up from Meadowlane, then for awhile I used to grab discounted kids meals from Glynoaks. Neither of us had ever set foot in the Downtown location. It was to both of our surprise how expansive and sprawling the interior is. Wow!
I often check out their rotating burgers to see if there’s anything I find intriguing. The What’s the Dill Burger was calling my name! Grillo’s pickles, Lays Dill Pickle potato chips, and Lemon Dill cream cheese. I have a Dill obsession . Subbed a Vegan Patty. While I am thrilled my Vegan friends have this option, and I do love a good Veggie Burger, theirs has never been my favorite. It tends to get mushy too fast. My thought was that with all of these super crunchy ingredients it might be a Game Changer. Even added Lettuce for good measure. It Was Delicious!!! I am not a potato chip person and have never put them on a sandwich in my life. Seriously could not get enough! Total Winner!
My husband decided on the Louisiana Purchase Burger, I kinda figured. Blackened seasoning, Coleslaw, Andouille, Spicy Mayo, and Pepper jack. He was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. Nice amount of heat, Coleslaw was great, needed more of that Sausage! We split an order of Freedom Fries, these are the kind I really love. Side of Awesome Sauce.
After scoping out the whole place I purposely chose the seats overlooking the Grill. My husband loves being a Looky Loo when a Kitchen is involved . Service was great. Only a bit of a wait. I’ll definitely be watching their specials a little more closely!

I came here with my family for dinner as we drove through on a road trip. The pictures of the food online looked so good, we had to try it. We are all so glad we did! My daughter said they had the best fries she has ever had in her entire life. They were pretty amazing! We tried the truffle parmesan fries, regular fries, regular tots, and sweet potato waffle fries in addition to burgers. All of the sides were delicious! Crispy and not soggy, perfect ratio of crispy outside to soft inside. If I wasn’t so full, I considered getting another order of fries! The burgers were all very tasty, too. My husband said you could tell the meat was high quality. Next time we are in the area, we’ll plan on stopping by again!

This place has THE best gluten-free chicken tender bites!! Burgers were super juicy and delish. Freedom tots and fries were fantastic. Sweet potato fries were killer! Staff was professional and friendly. Definitely will be coming back

First time eating at honest abes. Was with my wife and kids. Waited 10 min to even get anyone to take our order. We ordered 4 all American burgers with fries. Food came out COMPLETELY undercooked, very raw. Would have been nice if we would have been asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. 80 bucks for 4 burgers and NO drinks, just water. Way way overpriced and was completely underwhelmed. Will not be going back that is certain

This place was highly recommended to us and after a few grumbles from the family we decided to walk to it. They were not wrong. If ur in the area or not you should go. The flavors were perfect and the portions just right. Everything was cooked to perfection and I want another burger.

This was awesome! I got the 1809 burger! The pickled apples were unique & delicious! The theme of the restaurant & look was really cool! Food was cooked fast & fresh! I’ll definitely be back!

I’d heard so much praise for this place and had super high hopes. When I found a parking spot right in front of the downtown location at noon, I thought it was destiny.
It’s a big burger, and a nice portion of tots. Sadly the tots were the highlight. The burger was just ok (it wasn’t anything special) but I’d save my money and go to Runza instead. And for real, the sweet tea is truly horrible.
I wanted to be impressed, I just wasn’t. Maybe noontime during the week is an isolated case?

We did a quick family trip to Lincoln (from Omaha) today and decided to find a fire burger joint in Lincoln. We stumbled across Honest Abes will walking around and soooo glad we did! We tried a rotating menu burger (Big Poppa) and A regular menu burger (Best Burger Ever) with tots and fries, kiddo had the grilled cheese and fries, followed by a double Dutch chocolate and BananaRama shakes! Everything from the food, service, how quick we got our food to the cleanliness was 10 out of 10! We found our new Lincoln spot for sure!
