You can tell food was not fresh. Like it was just warmed up. Fast food bbq for you. Garlic bread, corn bread was good. Fries soggy. Ribs n meet fell off bone but it tasted funny. Sausage was good. Chicken (thigh n drum) was good. They pulled pork n beef brisk… no thanks

For starters they have some of the worst brisket I have ever eaten. Dried out old just terrible. Could understand if it was reasonably priced but their pricing is on the upper end so for this terrible food We won’t be back. Restaurant from the counter was total chaos. Should called city dump instead, nothing barbecue about it. Photo of mac and cheese so hard you can’t cut or chew it.

City Barbeque on Richmond Road is literally the best restaurant in Lexington. The food is always fantastic. The people that work there are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure I have a great experience. My Great Dane loves the brisket and I love the new chicken tenders. Everyone there deserves a raise!

Went there tonight to dine in and I have to say the staff was so kind. One of the male workers there who had a hat on was super friendly. In a world full of mean and hateful people I was so thankful for that encounter. It really left me very happy with our experience there tonight. Thank you for the great food and kind attitude! Update 10.29.2025: We went here recently when I wasn’t in the mood for BBQ. I decided to try their salad instead. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much in the area of quality. I was shocked. It was huge (the pic doesn’t do it justice) and the lettuce was probably some of the freshest I have had in a long time. The lettuce was huge so I did have to use a knife to cut it but it was worth it. I would highly recommend you give it a try.
Previous Post: This is our go to BBQ place. The service is always fast and friendly and fantastic. I have tried multiple items from the menu and all have been delicious. I love their meats and unlike some other competitors their sides are on point. Love their hush puppies, green beans, and corn pudding!

Pretty tasty BBQ, my small complaint would be the meat portion which was pretty skimpy, especially the beef brisket, I feel like the staff got hungry and helped themselves to some of my dinner.

I ordered greens, potato salad, mac & cheese, and green beans, and unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The greens were overly salty and had the flavor of canned Glory Greens, lacking freshness. The mac & cheese was dry, overcooked, and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a while. For the price and expectation, I anticipated a much higher quality meal.
