We had a great experience at Culinary Dropout in Orange and would definitely return. We were a party of three with an early reservation, and everything started off smoothly. One of our friends arrived before us and was seated early with no issues. They offer complimentary valet, so definitely take advantage of that. Street parking is also available, but it can be tricky, especially on weekends. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside, and the atmosphere was lively but comfortable. Our server, Trenton, took care of us, checking in at all the right times. We also loved seeing the store manager, David, actively involved. He was constantly circulating, helping tables, and checking in on us frequently, it’s always nice to see management so hands-on!

For starters, we ordered the soft pretzels with provolone fondue, which is absolutely shareable. There were so many pretzels we had to take some home! We also tried the whipped feta with bread, and it was so good. Easily 10/10. The bread was buttery and delicious I highly recommend!

Next, we shared the Asian Crunch Salad with Thai curry vinaigrette. It had the perfect crunch and was another great dish to share.

For our mains, my boyfriend and his daughter both ordered the fried chicken, and they said it was perfectly fried with a generous portion. I ordered the roasted salmon, which was excellent. The toasted couscous that came with it was especially delicious, I’ll definitely order it again! I couldn’t finish it, so I boxed it up, and it held up really well the next day.

For drinks, my friend ordered a beer, my boyfriend had the Paloma Spritz, and I went with an Old Fashioned. The cocktails were all good and well made.

We ended the night by sharing the Mississippi Mud Pie, and I really enjoyed it, a perfect dessert to split!

The place gets very busy, but we came at the perfect time. Making a reservation is highly recommended. Overall, great food, great service, and a fun, energetic atmosphere!

Great service and delicious food. It seems like a new place. everything from the interior design to the furniture and lighting was beautifully done.

Two people in our party wanted to share a dish, and the staff thoughtfully served it already split into two bowls. Very professional and attentive service!

Finally got to try this place and we came for happy hour. It did not disappoint. They have several options for happy hour as far as food and drink drinks go.

We were seated in the bar area and our server was attentive.

We opted for the brussels sprouts, pretzel and fondue cheese dip, and the short ribs. I really enjoyed the ribs with the spicy slaw. Brussels were great as well.

Great vibes’

We stopped by for a quick happy hour visit. We sat at the bar and had a great visit with the bar tenders and the general
Manager, who is very motivated to have an excellent establishment. We hope to return as we enjoyed our drinks. They have a nice HH menu, worth checking out!

I was particularly impressed by the customer service. I was kindly offered a choice of desserts for my birthday. As well, the happy hour food we wanted was not available. The rain had delayed the delivery Service. Our server suggested an alternative. We didn’t love it and she kindly took her off our bill. Very impressive customer service! We will return!

Excellent food, drink, service, and ambiance. Ima sucker for a good prime rib dip and didn’t disappoint. The Mongolian ribs are delish with a rich sauce (they’re not too saucy). The drinks are mostly bomb. The Abandoned Cadillac was delicious, perfectly sweet, and the pomegranate redux was amazing. The Evil Jungle Princess was tasty and the guava gave it a nice fruity flavor. The Two to Mango was a let down with the High Noon can…I’d prefer fresh ingredients not a can. Overall a great experience

Like it enough visited twice in one week. Great friendly service from Kelsey. Nice elevated space, specially for old town orange.

Nice to see a place with non alcoholic craft cocktails. Hoping they will expand the menu and other stablishmente in the circle will follow suit.

Har the roasted squash salad with steak. The steak was delicious. Also tried the meatloaf on the first visit.

Second time around we had the chips, French dip. Mongolian shirt ribs and chicken Katie sandwich.

Happy to see q new place by the circle that is not another coffee shop or pub.

I had the pleasure of visiting Culinary Dropout twice recently—once for takeout and once for dine-in—and both experiences were genuinely memorable. For takeout, I tried the fried chicken, which was good, though I’d probably recommend enjoying their dishes fresh on-site for the best experience.

On our return visit, we dined in, and I was absolutely impressed. The restaurant’s ambiance is stunning, with beautiful decor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond, checking in on us frequently and making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.

We sampled a range of dishes: I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked, and my friends tried the katsu sandwich and the fish and chips. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, and the cocktails were just as delightful. They even offer free valet parking, which is a huge bonus in the often crowded Orange Circle area.

In short, Culinary Dropout is a fantastic spot with delicious food, outstanding service, and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

The food was amazing. A chicken katsu sando on a menu has got my business for sure. The espresso martini with borghetti is top notch and the grilled sourdough bread for the feta dip was perfectly savory. Our server Martin went over the favorites and recommended us some great drink choices. The aesthetic in the restaurant was perfect and it’s definitely the kind of place you would want to be a regular at. Two different managers David and Debbie stopped by the table and ask us about our experience and check in with us. This is the kind of hospitality you want to see when you’re spend your hard earned dollars! Can’t wait for my next visit when I’m back in town. Thanks to the staff for everything!

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Culinary Dropout. This is a great spot for a quick lunch date or even a dinner. The menu has something for everybody to enjoy. The food is very good, it’s not exceptional, but definitely is very tasty and gets the job done. I would say it’s on a similar level to Yardhouse or Lazy Dog. We started off with the pretzel bites and brussel sprouts, both were delcious, especially the cheese sauce with the pretzels. The main course was a short rib dish, that was tasty, but way too saucy for our liking. Overall, fun restaurant, good vibes, and good food!

We made dinner reservations ahead of the Ducks vs Sharks hockey game at Honda Center. Had never been and were hoping for a “foodie” type vibe…CD did NOT disappoint!

Our server was super helpful. She clearly cared about the customer experience and was thoroughly familiarv with everything in the menu. She recommended a few things and we were of and running. 10/10 on al things ordered: burger, 2 salads, nachos and the pretzel fondue bites…wowowowow. Fun vibe in the bar side as we were all in our hockey gear. Thanks CD for a memorable family date night “starter”!! Yum. Worth the trip.
