Reviews
I ordered Mole Manchamanteles to go—a dish that is not commonly found in restaurants and costs $25. What I received was laughable: three tiny pieces of chicken, dry and overcooked, drowning in a mole that was completely flat, bland, and devoid of depth or flavor. If you’re going to charge premium prices, the food needs to at least meet a basic standard of quality. This did not.
I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand how they can impact a business. However, this experience was so egregious that I felt compelled to say something. This place is robbing customers—not just with its inflated prices, but with shockingly poor execution and portion sizes that wouldn’t satisfy a child.
I did call the restaurant to express my disappointment. They offered a refund, but this was a carry-out order and I was already long gone. At that point, the damage was done.
I hope management sees this review and takes it seriously, because what I experienced should not be happening to anyone. Until major changes are made, I would highly discourage anyone from eating here. Save your money. This is highway robbery disguised as cuisine.
Update I came by on my birthday for breakfast on a Sunday morning, it was pretty packed and I ordered my go to, chilaquiles with carne asada with the usual sides of potatoes. And a horchata (which was as amazing as last time), when my food arrived it was a smaller portion of meat about two small pieces of carne and a smaller portion of potatoes from last time. I’m not sure if it’s because the other time I came on a Wednesday morning when it was about two other customer in the restaurant but this time around I was a bit disappointed because I usually leave full and satisfied. I will still come back to see if during the week my portions might be more generous. I’d assume it’s because it was a busy day maybe they weren’t able to be generous with their servings which is understandable but I felt I didn’t get my moneys worth my last visit. I hope this review helps maintain a steady serving size perhaps weighing or measuring out a serving that’s consistent so that when people come again they don’t feel discouraged to spend their money here. My best regards
