Today I tried a restaurant I discovered through TikTok called Moles la Tia. This was my first time trying their food, and given the name, one would reasonably assume that mole is their specialty. Unfortunately, what I received was an insult to both the dish and the price point.

I ordered Mole Manchamanteles to go—a dish that is not commonly found in restaurants and costs $25. What I received was laughable: three tiny pieces of chicken, dry and overcooked, drowning in a mole that was completely flat, bland, and devoid of depth or flavor. If you’re going to charge premium prices, the food needs to at least meet a basic standard of quality. This did not.

I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand how they can impact a business. However, this experience was so egregious that I felt compelled to say something. This place is robbing customers—not just with its inflated prices, but with shockingly poor execution and portion sizes that wouldn’t satisfy a child.

I did call the restaurant to express my disappointment. They offered a refund, but this was a carry-out order and I was already long gone. At that point, the damage was done.

I hope management sees this review and takes it seriously, because what I experienced should not be happening to anyone. Until major changes are made, I would highly discourage anyone from eating here. Save your money. This is highway robbery disguised as cuisine.

The food and presentation is amazing. If you go be prepared to wait. But it’s well worth it.

Scrambled eggs with cactus and beans with potatoes. This was good and the cactus are fresh. Portion good size. Good fast. This was early just open people moving . Ambiance was good. The price was up a little but like any other restaurant. The drinks aguas frescas flavor drinks cucumber drink was great and fresh. Great and they just reopen after year’s because of cover. Great as always. Yes.

Amazing chilaquiles, and one of the best horchatas I’ve tried in my entire life. Highly recommend.
Update I came by on my birthday for breakfast on a Sunday morning, it was pretty packed and I ordered my go to, chilaquiles with carne asada with the usual sides of potatoes. And a horchata (which was as amazing as last time), when my food arrived it was a smaller portion of meat about two small pieces of carne and a smaller portion of potatoes from last time. I’m not sure if it’s because the other time I came on a Wednesday morning when it was about two other customer in the restaurant but this time around I was a bit disappointed because I usually leave full and satisfied. I will still come back to see if during the week my portions might be more generous. I’d assume it’s because it was a busy day maybe they weren’t able to be generous with their servings which is understandable but I felt I didn’t get my moneys worth my last visit. I hope this review helps maintain a steady serving size perhaps weighing or measuring out a serving that’s consistent so that when people come again they don’t feel discouraged to spend their money here. My best regards

By far some of the worst mole I’ve ever had I seen this place on Facebook it said it was closed for a few years and it reopened with the same recipes so I headed down now I know why this place was closed it was the worst food I’ve ever eaten at $30 for three little mole enchiladas I ordered a side order of rice that was just as bad as the mole beware don’t waste your time
