Great spot in town. Delicious food at pretty reasonable prices. The ambience is good but not fantastic. It feels like more of a theme park than an actual pub except for ironically the loo. The harsh LED lighting really makes it odd. But the decorations are fun and more importantly the, the food is delicious and well made. The clams were drowned in butter, the potatoes were drowned in butter but it was delicious. The soup even had prime rib! Fantastic food, service and prices.

NOTE ON HOURS: The Kitchen/Dining Room closes at 9:00 PM (Friday & Saturday), but the bar stays open until 1:00 AM and has food for another later but the fryer is open until 12:30. Great for drinks late, but get your food order in early!

Everything was really tasty. The service was quick and efficient, friendly and kind. Food was delicious. Hot to the table. Huge portions can’t complain. Would come back here again and again. The staff was wonderful. The bathroom is clean. The Christmas tree was awesome. I’ve never seen one like this before!

Priscilla was an amazing sever as we had our big group of 20+ come in! The food came in a timely manner considering the party size and it was DELICIOUS! The fries were tasty and I had a very good chicken sandwich! If i’m ever back in town, so if Im ever back in town I know where im going!

We ordered the BLT with tater tots and shepherds pie. The sandwich was very good, but the pie was – and I never thought I’d say this – too cheesy. The cheese took over the entire flavor profile of the dish, so you don’t get to enjoy as much potatoes and meat in each bite; I just ended up eating underneath the cheese:) The ambience was 5/5 and the service was 10/5, so we’ll definitely be coming back if we’re in the area, but I’ll just try something else on the menu next time.

I was in town for a quick work trip and wanted to find a place I never had been to before and I decided to give them a try. I was greeted immediately once I walked in and sat. The service was five stars. I didn’t have to wait long for the food and when it came out, it was hot and very delicious. I substituted the fries for onion rings With my Ruben. I will definitely be back for another meal here.

My buddy and I stopped in at Mackey‘s recently on a Wednesday for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. The Restaurant was nice and clean. And the food was delicious. We both had the Reuben sandwich which was fantastic. And I had french fries with my sandwich and the french fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t let anybody tell you you can’t get a good meal in Ontario, Oregon. I will go back again.

Nestled in the heart of Ontario, Mackey’s is a delightful gem that exceeds expectations in every way. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. It’s that quintessential small-town restaurant vibe where everyone is friendly, and the decor adds a charming touch of local flavor.
The standout feature of our visit was undoubtedly the service. Our server, Nichole, was absolutely fantastic. Her attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for the menu made our dining experience even more enjoyable. She had an incredible ability to anticipate our needs and answered all of our questions with a smile. It’s clear that she loves her job, and her passion truly enhances the restaurant’s welcoming ambiance.
Now, let’s talk about the food — simply delicious! I ordered the fish and chips and I must say they were something special. Unlike any fries we’ve tried before, they had the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, seasoned just right. I wish more places had fries that good. It’s obvious that the chefs put thought and care into the menu. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us satisfied but also excited for our next visit.
The overall ambiance contributed to the experience as well; the intimate setting, friendly chatter of fellow diners, and the comforting scent of home-cooked meals created an atmosphere that’s hard to beat. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great food, and feel like part of the community.
We left Mackey’s with full bellies and happy hearts, promising ourselves that this would become a regular spot for us. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by — you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you, Nichole, and the entire team for a memorable dining experience. We can’t wait to come back!

We stopped here while traveling, so we weren’t familiar with the restaurant. The interior is structured like you’d find in a pub in Ireland. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, with colcannon. My husband ordered the shepherd’s pie. The food was fantastic!!! We travel thru this area a couple times a year. This is our go-to from now on.

Fun Irish atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Food was decent and you get a lot of it for the price! The mocktails were fun to try, with the one I got mostly being hot chocolate with peppermint. It was nice and creamy! Conversation was a little difficult to have between two people as there were two TVs on in the background along with the other patrons who are also talking. Makes for a loud environment. It’s worth a visit and can be a fun place to try if you’re in town.
