This was a shocking and unacceptable experience at BJ’s Culver City.
I ordered the Classic Rib-Eye 14 oz ($33.99) WITHOUT black pepper due to a food allergy, with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I was served a steak that was burnt, covered in black carbon, and tasted strongly of gas and ash. It was dirty, unsafe, and completely inedible.
When I questioned the server, she first admitted it was because the grill was dirty. Then she changed her explanation and blamed it on my special order. That response is alarming. A food allergy and a special request are not excuses to serve contaminated food.
I asked to speak to the manager. His response was dismissive and careless. He said “ok, no problem” and walked away without apologizing, without replacing the meal, and without showing any concern whatsoever.
I have eaten at many BJ’s locations and have never experienced this level of negligence, disrespect, and lack of basic food safety.
This location has lost my business permanently

Jonathan is not just a server; he’s a legend. He was perfectly attentive, and he’s also the funniest man alive. My new standard for humor is, ‘Is this something Jonathan would say?’ If not, it’s not funny.
The service didn’t end at the table. Our car battery died, and Jonathan came out and jumpstarted it with his bare hands. I’m not kidding.
I asked how we could repay him. He said, ‘Speak nothing of this, for it is the heart that makes a man rich, not the money.’ Sorry, Jonathan, but I have to tell the world. This man is a 10/10.

Jonathan was the best. He helped out with all my needs, made sure that my food was here perfectly, and was always around to make sure that we got everything that needed. And all in all, he was respectful and had a positive attitude the entire time throughout our time here.

I was unhappy with not only the first batch that had 2 egg rolls that looked like they fell apart while trying to plate. But even the second batch wasn’t good. It tastes like the grease was old and but had a sour taste as if the avocado was old or possibly even reused. The Pizza was great, they don’t fall short there in my opinion and I sat at the bar so the young lady look care of us but I can tell she was concerned about our opinion about the egg rolls. Finally I gave her back the second plate after a few bites and decided to call it and request the check. I wanted more food but after that experience I chose to close the tab and split. The Lucky Ducky drink was okay, if you’re a lightweight you are safe to indulge. The Grand Patron Margarita was decent, no complaints

We both ordered the $13 Poozookie meal and got calamari as our appetizer. The calamari was too salty but managable. He got the bbq pizza with salad while I ordered the Italian Chicken Parmigiana. His BBQ chicken was great. However, my order was burnt, yet cold, and very disgusting all at the same time. I usually never give orders back, but I absolutely had to in this case.
I then exchanged it for a pepperoni pizza with salad, but I sadly never received my salad. We took one Poozookie to go and shared the other, which was also pretty good before leaving.
Our server was busy but very sweet and accommodating, but I doubt we’ll ever come back. We also noticed how dirty the establishment was, which only added to the disappointment.

My server was absolutely lazy and rude, I was supposed to receive unlimited fries with my burger since it was Wednesday, she waited until she brought my Togo container to bring my SECOND serving of fries . The fries were warm, that was an upside. Do not get the lucky ducky. Based on photos, they didn’t even make mine how others looked. Once again a bad thing on our servers part. Left the server a $5 tip on a $80 bill, that should reflect the service we received. The atmosphere was pretty chill, I’d say don’t go to this place if you want to be in close proximity with the whole restaurant. I do not want a response to this review unless the problem will be fixed .

Came to BJ’s what in Culver City and I had their deep dish pizza with a caesar salad on the specials they have for $13.99 and of course it comes with a Pizookie and it was delicious. I really enjoyed it. Our server was named Paula and she was very nice and sweet and very helpful. The manager working that night was named Richard or Rich and he was a very nice young man.
