We ordered the 3 PC dark, with beans & slaw also fried okra, fries, corn nuggets and sweet potato pie. I must say everything was soo good and fresh. I do like my chicken with flavor with a little spicy – thats how GUS does it. The sweet potato pie was homemade, I will visit again when in the neighborhood. I like the fact that you could see the kitchen area, everyone worked as a TEAM. We will try the location closer to home next time. This was a to go order but the atmosphere seem down home and cozy.

I’m not a fan of waiting, but this location is impressively quicker and more efficient than the other Gus’s locations. I love Gus’s but this location needs work. We arrived at 8pm on Sunday 2/15 and when we arrived we were asked if dining in or take out and when we said dine in the girl rolled her eyes and yells sit over there and pointed. When waitress walked up we asked how she was doing and she said fine but said she was ready to go. She abruptly took our order and by 8:20 was asking if she could leave us the ticket because she had to start cleaning.

I ordered a half chicken online for pick up. Upon arrival, I was surprised at the condition of the dining room. There was trash and spilt beverages on the floor. The worst part was it wasn’t busy. There were only two tables with patrons. I was hesitant to pick up the food I had ordered but I gave the it benefit of doubt. They could have been short staffed. On a good note, the food was delicious and the service was good. I forgot to take a photo of the food.

I have been wanting to eat here for a while, and I finally got the chance since we were in Germantown (we live an hour and half away). The decor of the restaurant is very nice. I found the chandelier at the entrance a bit out of place with the rest of the restaurant, but hey, I am not an interior decorator lol. I came to eat here on March 13 with my wife and we were not disappointed. The server, whose name starts with J, but as I am posting this a little late I do not remember his name, greeted us promptly and told us to have a seat of our choosing. Very nice tall guy and very attentive. I ordered the 3 piece (2 breast and a wing) with a side of Mac and cheese. My wife had the 3 piece tenders. I got the fried green tomatoes as the app. The breading on the fried green tomatoes could use some more seasoning, as they lacked a little in flavor, but they were still good. The BEST part of this meal was the chicken
Y’all when I tell you this is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Extremely tender and juicy. Not dry or chewy in any part of my three piece. And the seasoning they had on the breading of the chicken. I still think about it. My wife’s tenders were tender and juicy as well, but the breast piece was the best. The slaw and baked beans that came as sides were a little on the sweeter side for my taste, but that is definitely some good Mac and cheese. Not overly cooked and real cheese. Not just smothered in some cheese sauce. And the pie yall.we got a slice aloft sweet potato pie and it did not disappoint. Perfect balance of sweet and spices, and the crust was perfect as well. Will definitely be back because I overheard someone say they got spicy as well and I think I just ordered the regular because I didn’t see that option on the menu. The staff was nice and friendly. Definitely look forward to eating here again.

Server was a bumpkin. Didn’t want to really help me explore what I wanted. Just wanted to hurry up and get my order. Chicken burnt, and small. Greens were ok. Baked beans good. Overpriced.

I spent $58 on 3 dinner plates! Just for my daughter to get home with 3 kids meals !!!!my plates had teaspoons of Mac and cheese on each plate! And 5 crusty okra’s! My daughter chicken breast had blood in it !!! I called the location and the manger Odessa said they were running out of Mac and cheese and the cook stretched it. She took my name and added it to the book for the Mac n cheese and okra to be replaced ! This is the 3rd time I’ve had to report poor quality food either you are getting small portions, baby sized chicken wings or bloody chicken. I WILL NEVER return to the hwy 64 location. It’s crazy that we have to drive all the way to the Germantown location just to get good quality food. $20 for a plate , food should be good quality. going forward I will get family packs of chicken and sides from the grocery store and cook from home!!!
