Quaint one-off neighborhood coffee shop and bakery. Good menu of specialty drinks, but I’ve only gotten the latte’s. Very good. Ditto for the bakery stuff like croissants and biscotti’s. Fast service from the counter. Right on Chicago Street, street parking can be scarce but there’s a garage across the street.

Stopped in Sunday morning the service was amazing. The staff was super friendly and there is a cash discount and an old school punch program. The place was hopping and sometimes has day old for a discount and it was delicious.

The best local coffee shop!!! Workers are extremely charismatic and friendly. Wide variety of drink options and the pricing is very affordable. It’s a small shop so it’s more of a grab and go, but there are a few seats if you want to sip and enjoy your coffee in a ceramic mug. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Nice coffee spot in downtown Elgin that I was glad to find this past Saturday afternoon. Very friendly baristas and a large menu full of the usual suspects and more. Ordered a Chili Chocolate iced latte after one the baristas gave me a rundown of what was in it.
Tasted great and liked the laidback feel that I got even from just being inside of the cafe for a little while. Looking forward to warmer weather so that I can grab an iced shakerato the next time I’m in Elgin.

Cute, locally run and owned Coffee Shop with delicious Pastries. Very reasonable prices considering what breakfasts costs at a commercial coffee house. They have all kinds of coffee options, including ice coffee blended in a cocktail shaker. All of Sugar & Rhymes pastries and dessert options are delicious, but the Croissants are to die for. I’ve had chocolate, ham & cheese and plain butter. The almond must be just as delicious, because they’re always sold out by the time I get there. Next time, I’ll call and do an order ahead a few days in advance. They also will wrap up your pastries (or coffee) to go, with instructions on how to reheat and not burn them in your own oven. Slightly burned they’re still delicious. A word of warning, they’re so big they don’t fit in all toaster ovens.

Monkey bread was amazing for kids. Ham and Gouda croissant was amazing, buttery and flakey. Cheesecake tastes homemade. I’m not sure what happened with the almond croissant the inside was sopping with butter and the outside, burnt. Everything else was amazing tho, atmosphere was homey and the street it was on was friendly.

Percy greeted me at the counter. Such a smiling face. Offered to heat up my quiche. Which is amazing, by the way! (Croissant crust is so innovative.) Pat brought out my order quickly, (Also very friendly.) Nice dine in vibe. Took home croissants. You can tell it takes 3 days to make them. Photo worthy, and flaky beyond compare. Shout out to Kelly in the back!

This cafe has a wonderful staff/owners and the best croissants I’ve ever had! I’ve tried all their croissants and adore them all: classic butter croissants, chocolate croissants, almond croissants, and even smoked ham and gouda filled! Their other pastries are great, too. And they make an awesome chai latte – my favorite drink! And, I absolutely love that they use eco friendly packaging. I hope this place stays in Elgin for a long time. We’re so lucky to have them.

The place itself is beautiful. Maroon themed and adorable sitting area. I tried the creme brule latte, and it was warm, smooth, semi sweet (how I like it) it also has the creme brule effect on top of the drink… that was delicious. The kitchen looks so clean and amazing. Staff are very approachable and friendly. Great place to do some work, quick coffee break, or just for a delicious baked good.
