Great food, great service, reasonable prices. This place is not on the beaten path but it is worth the trip. All the food is made fresh by hand. We have already been back and we will be coming here whenever we want to have Mexican food.

After a flight down the Chicago Lakeshore, made a stop for some tacos.

All of the food was good.

Started off with chips and salsa. While the salsa was nothing to write home about, the chips were really good. I am guessing these were made in-house. They were super thick and crunchy.

I ordered one each of the tacos Al Pastor, Chorizo & Lengua. Each one of the tacos were good. Also came with beans and rice.

Would I come back? Yes.

Bonus for being at the airport.

Finally, I was able to make it to this little place. The food was definitely worth it. I had the chorizo and eggs meal. What I really liked about this dish was that it was perfectly moist. Sometimes other places over cook the eggs to a rubber-like consistency. Not in this place! The beans were perfectly seasoned and the rice was cooked very well. Also the salsa and chips that they serve at the beginning were very good. The salsa was not spicy oh, but it was very flavorful, almost a smokey like flavor. Overall a great experience good food, good service, good price.

I’d give this place zero stars if possible. I am not one to ever send food back but I sent 1 appetizer and 2 dinners back because they were just that bad. Even the kids grilled cheese was so awful that my 5 year old wouldn’t eat it. There is a photo on their wall that calls this place a “hidden gem” and that’s laughable. This is by far the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. As a Hispanic woman, I’m embarrassed for the owner. The waitress we had was great and the only good part of our experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I will not be returning.

I really wanted to like this place. Lake County has diverse ethnicities, and you can often find great restaurants in nondescript locations such as this. But it ended up being rather “meh.”

The salsa was pretty good, though the tomato sauce almost seemed more Italian in consistency. The chips were a bit too thick, and few of them were consumed.

I ordered enchiladas, and what I got was barely-seasoned chicken in tortillas covered with a red sauce (that looked like the salsa base) then smothered with flavorless cheese. They have their own hot sauces, red and green. The red version lacked heat, but had okay flavor.

The prices were quite reasonable, so for the money, quantity was excellent. However, the meal was, overall, quite bland.

Great service and excellent food. Dinner date with the wife was lower cost than anywhere else we have ever gone together. We will definitely be return customers. Also they sell chorizo by the pounds! And they cook it PERFECTLY.

This place is so good that I even forgot to take the pictures!! Don Jesus (Jessy) is such a nice guy, he takes the time to stop by every table and have a friendly chat with all the customers. Food is excellent, service is excellent, price is right… What else do you need? The thing that I love the most is that this is a real Mexican food restaurant, not Tex Mex, and they can prepare you almost anything in the menu, vegetarian!!! Kudos to Don Jesus!

If I could give this place no stars, I would. If your feeding children then by all means, order a dinner. If your feeding an adult better order 3 for one person. My parents spent 60$ for 3 buritto grande dinners and large guacamole. The burritos were all 4inches long! The guacamole tasted like STRAIGHT lime!!! Literally had better food from taco bell! Do not waste your money.
The salsa and sour cream was the best part of the meal!

Worst Mexican restaurant in NWI. The burrito was the size of a taco, with absolutely no flavor.
Extremely stingy with portions for how much they charge.
Avoid this spot and go to an authentic spot, not this hole in the wall dump trying to sell mediocre food.

Service however was great though
