Located in the heart of downtown Denville, Thatcher’s always can be relied on for old beer and decent food. They have a full bar with a great selection of beers and food selections with a rotating seasonal menu. During a visit in October, ordered from the Octoberfest menu and started off with the German Style Potato Cakes which were
Served with a side of applesauce & sour cream and a Stacy’s Mom IPA from Eviln Genius Beer Company. For lunch, ordered the Tober Toastie (Choice of Black Forest ham or shredded sauerbraten topped with beer braised onions & muenster cheese; served on rye bread)

Thatchers is one of our go to spots that never disappoints.

Thatcher McGhee’s was fantastic. Many times I used to visit the location in Fairfield, NJ. Many meals are great from Shepherds Pie, Irish Sausage & Chips, French Onion Soup; The Corn Beef Sandwich was also really good.

Deb and I were treated to a fun Irish Pub atmosphere at this vibrant restaurant. The owner, Brendan, showed a keen attention to every detail in regard to great customer service. Our server, Johnah , was a true hustler with a great sense of humor. This menu is full of Irish pub fare as well as numerous contemporary dinner options. The fish sandwich was big and tasty. The Guinness dipped chicken tenders rocked!! The martinis and Deb’s margaritas were perfect. Get there, be patient, and a great seat will appear. ENJOY!!

Great service fun atmosphere thatch burger medium rare cooked perfect but two 8 ounce patties was two much for me, lol what was I thinking. My wife said the French dip was good….. The Guinness beer was the best I’ve had anywhere. And almost 9 $ each it drove our bill up a little bit. That’s why I’m going to click 30 to 50 per person but again we enjoyed Thank you Thatcher McGhee’s.

Food was pretty good. Cheese steak egg rolls, mashed potatoes, chili all just fine. Weak drinks. Weird service. Kept having to remind the waitress that we’d ordered a drink. She then kinda just disappeared. Then I approached another waitress to see if we could order a coffee from her on a different ticket and was met with HUGE attitude and a “no”. But finally a very kind server came in to check on us and got the coffee. All in all it was fine. Not like, highly recommended but not bad.

It is a cute looking Irish bar in downtown Denville. They have a lot of beers to choose from. I went there for a Saturday lunch and it was not that crowded but I can easily imagine this place being packed at night. They have different rooms and that looked nice. Food was like typical Irish restaurant food, that is nothing wrong with that.

Food is above average for sure, great atmosphere, very kid friendly, great beer selection, parking easy to find!! Reuben is my go to! Had turkey vegetable soup today which was excellent. Chicken noodle soup also great! Moscow mule pretty good but my preferred drink is the evil genius. Wait staff always great!

Came here since my brother was craving it. It was St. Patrick day weekend so they served a limited menu. I’ve never been disappointed with the food. We got the Buffalo chicken dip which was delicious. It was creamy and had a wonderful taste but not too spicy. The chips seemed a bit stale and not alot of salt but the celery paired wonderful. The potato leek soup was okay not my type of soup. It seem kinda bland. The scones were delicious and were wonderful the day after! My brother enjoyed the pastrami pie. My dad liked the fish n chips. I would def recommend some lemon or vinegar. The chili was spicy but great. I loved the beef stew the mashed potatoes are were dense for my liking.

It was my first time here and thanks to Samantha and Casey it was a great experience… but my whole hour and a half that I was there I felt really uncomfortable with this lady who I think is the manager staring at everyone including me. I heard the same comment from the guy with his friends sitting right next to me… I never had such an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. Please change your manager, your employees and customers don’t need to be harassed by someone like her. What a dark cloud.

Authentic Irish pub in Denville with true proper and delicious Irish dishes. Service is fantastic, the customers are welcoming and everybody makes you feel like you’ve been coming there for years even if it’s your first time.

Highly recommend the Irish breakfast, even for dinner, it’s a true banger 😉
