She was good to offer recommendations. We got the fried calamari, baked ravioli for appetizers. We ordered the Korean rice bowl bowl, avocado sandwich, grilled chicken and charred Brussels sprouts.
The calamari was large pieces and appeared to be hand breaded. The baked ravioli was a little too crunchy for our likes, but the green pesto sauce was awesome. Sandwich and chicken were okay, nothing earth shattering. The Korean rice bowl was great. Added shrimp. Spicy and flavorful.
We were too full to get dessert but they had great options. Wish the service was a little better.
The drinks were delicious. I got the Rhubarbara Streisand and my wife got the Orange Sunryse with gin instead of whiskey.
My wife got the Reindeer Scramble with tots. She said it was delicious. The eggs were seasoned. It was spicy, but not too spicy. She made a point to note how incredibly fresh all the produce is.
I got the Veggie Benedict with a side of mac n cheese. Usually when they say pesto is an ingredient, you can barely taste it. Not this time!! And the mac n cheese…. omg chef’s kiss!!! The sauce was creamy, the crumb on top was flavorful but without being too salty, the noodles were just right. I eat a lot of bennies and a LOT of mac n cheese. This was by far the BEST benny and the BEST mac n cheese I’ve ever had out.
1000/10 most highly recommend
I got their burger: the patty was good, and the lettuce and onions were very fresh and crisp. <3 My mom got their dish with eggs and ham on English muffins, and the ham was absolutely delicious! I tried a bite; it was nice and smoky. I’m not usually a ham person, but I’m definitely getting that next time. My stepmom got their chicken sandwich and she loved it. The chicken was a generous, meaty cut which is definitely appreciated.
They seem to be a very popular spot for lunch/brunch so a little patience is recommended if you want to go during prime hours. About 25 minutes for the food is definitely not bad at all given how incredibly busy they were, but I can see an impatient person getting upset over that.
The prices, about $20 for most entrees is pretty average for a restaurant meal, so I wouldn’t call it expensive, which with the quality of the food is a pleasant surprise!
Servers are all very courteous/personable albeit very busy so, be prepared to flag someone down for water.
With that being said, it is one of those places “you gotta go” when in Anchorage.
