This easygoing neighborhood joint offers a selection of beers, along with pool tables.

McLaren’s Irish Pub is one of those perfect little dive bars you’re always happy to find. Laid-back, unpretentious, and full of character. Love that they serve free snacks at the bar, such a great touch and exactly what a neighborhood pub should feel like.
What really made the night memorable was the sense of community. A customer had brought in crock-pot pork with rolls and cheese and was serving sandwiches to everyone. You don’t get that kind of atmosphere just anywhere.
Cheap drinks, friendly people, and a true local bar feel. If you’re looking for a genuine Wilmington dive with personality, this place is awesome.

I went here twice in a week for the first time. Sunday was good, it wasn’t really busy and there was a pleasant group in there. Thursday was different, it was really busy and mostly men. I definitely wouldn’t bring a woman in this place! The pool tables were not able to be used the whole night, the same rowdy group had taken them over. No bouncers, or security that I noticed. The 2 bartenders are great though! I’ll try it again likely.

Bobby is Employee of the month…every month! Bobby and Nat as a duo is the best combination. They work really well together and are always entertaining everyone no matter what the time is. If you want to play pool and watch a game while feeling welcomed, then come here. That is all.

Our friends love their local establishment, took us as out of town guests and we weren’t disappointed.
Great spot!!

They don’t serve food which is why I gave that a 1 star ⭐, but the $2 beer specials on Sunday is fantastic, and so is Bobbie the Bartender. All the patrons are very friendly, outgoing, and welcoming.

I walked in at 8pm on a Saturday night.
First time. Offered to buy a round for the bar. (The right thing to do)
I. Was. REFUSED! Ridiculous. Never heard of such a thing.
I took my beer, ran a rack of balls and left. Ridiculously bad judgment by the bartender. Sorry patrons.

This place is so odd. I order an old fashion from a female bartender. It seems to be taking awhile and I saw her helping others and not making my drink. Then this guy comes over and says hey I heard you want an old fashioned? I said yes what’s going on do you have that? He says oh yeah I have one for you and I’ll be the one doing it and I’ll give you the best one you ever had you just need to come with me to my truck. So bizarre and creepy, never experienced anything like this

This is a bar with all in mind. There doesn’t seem to be drama or those who cannot handle their alcohol. During busy nights, team Bobby and Natalie kick a$$. All are served and no one goes ignored.
The bar itself is a smaller one but just enough to fill with typical bar scene. Four pool tables, darts and music player, as well as, a few more games. One of my favorite things is Karaoke on Thursdays I believe. Prices are normal as a normal bar would be.
As said, the crowd is very diverse and neighborly. With the small town bar feel, yet newcomers very often, you will feel welcome and at peace.
