Best kept secret In Missouri. Great fresh cooked to order food, good portions, super quite, super chill, treated like family, open 24/7 and cheaper then fast food (burger for burger wise). Can’t get much better then that. If your passing by stop on in you wont regret it

Small diner that looks like it’s falling apart. Needs painted and new chairs. Paint was chipping and the chairs were very beat up and lots of holes! Server and cook were rude and seemed to not really want to be there and asking a question or do something felt like it was an inconvenience. The sausage was dry. The biscuits were like they were microwaved or sat out for forever. Ordered scrambled eggs scrambled hard and American fries and the eggs were made as over hard eggs cut into pieces and the potatoes were smashed pieces of sliced potatoes with skin still on. The coffee was watered down and the water tasted weird. First time at a Dave’s Dinner and highly disappointed.

I’ve been coming to Dave’s Diner for about two decades now—ever since it was originally called Slingers—and it’s still just as amazing as ever. The food is consistently great, the prices are fair, and the whole experience is exactly what a classic diner should be.
I’ve ordered the same meal dozens (if not hundreds) of times, and somehow it still hits every single time. It’s simple, old-fashioned comfort food done right—no gimmicks, no fancy twists, just perfectly executed classics. I’ve brought coworkers and friends here over the years, and it always ends up being their favorite spot too.
Every time I walk out, I find myself thinking the same thing: “Damn, that was amazing.” Dave’s Diner is hands down one of the best, most consistent places around.

Events ran later than expected so needed to feed a 9 year old late evening. The cook is also the waitress as this is a small establishment. She modified a pancake to be the perfect size and made the adult meals exactly as requested. Great inexpensive comfort food. We had a burger, tamales, and a sandwich. Though we didnt order it, one member of the party was very excited to see fried bologna on the menu. There was a lot to choose from plus breakfast foods all day and night.

I went there at 4am. The lovely lady asked me what I wanted I said something about wafflehouse but not wanting to drive there. She says ‘psh, I can do way better’. She makes me a huge pancake, an awesome burger, and a huge plate of eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. Everything was incredible and all for less than $20. This is my new go to place.

Went here and had a wonderful time speaking with “A Dave” (not the owner) and Crystal. Food was great, but the conversation was the best part.
If you know someone who is fighting with food and losing, bring them during a slow day and come when Dave (not the owner) is working. The story he could tell them, could potentially help save their life. Incredible story and you’d never know it to look at the guy. He looks great and was so pleasant.
If Dave is working, sit and the counter and enjoy. Thanks again Dave (not the owner ) and also Dave (the owner), I guess
Apparently, there are also six “old guys” who come there on a regular basis. Had a fantastic time speaking with one of them. I plan to come around the same time so I can bump into them again too.

Dave’s is great. The Fenton snd Arnold locations are great. Hugh ridge location we stopped going to. It needs to be cleaned up. But no worries with Fenton and Arnold

Old school diner. Food was pretty good. No other customers were there when we got there. It still took awhile to get our food but it was very fresh and made to order.

The Quality and Service has never been bad however it fluctuates a lot dependent on the personnel at any given time which is true for most small diners where the owner is not normally on site. Dave owns i think 4 diners in Jefferson and St. Louis counties.
Dave only accepts cash and while each location has an ATM on site frequently the ATM might be out of commission.
All locations have slot machines.
