We ordered takeout – I had the Nena on a French roll, my honey had the Turkey and Avocado, and since it was our first time here, I ordered a small teriyaki chicken bowl on the side just to try it. I’m so glad I took a photo of my sandwich before taking a bite, otherwise there wouldn’t have been a photo to share! I can’t recommend this place enough. Please go try it for yourself and then share your experience to help spread the word about this amazing neighborhood restaurant!
The day started when we ordered 2 sandwiches and asked for no mayo and mustard but oil and vinegar. We got the sandwiches and to our surprise there was only meat cheese and bacon. No toppings like onions. We were extremely disappointed so we called the store and the daughter said that that is what we said we wanted and we can take the sandwiches back. We said no and we were just disappointed since we have been going there for years and left it like that.
This is the part that caused them to loose a loyal customer. The owner called back and told us it is not their fault because that is what we ordered. We calmly told her that is not what was ordered. It kept going back and forth with the owner raising her voice to us.
This is sad that all they had to say was I am sorry there was a mixup. Don’t tell the customer it’s not their fault. That is the moment we decided never again.
TJs was one of the only places that offered them in the SGV, so we decided to try it. We were definitely not disappointed, and let’s just say that every time we’re back in LP, we’ll be stopping here for some French Dips.
The food was fresh and prepared on the spot, and the lady working the counter who I assumed was the owner, was very nice. The bread had just the right amount of crunch. The meat and au jus were delicious as well. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality and affordable lunch.
