We both had the fish and chip meal with a cup/bowl of chower. We also tried the clam cakes. All the food was very good, the chowder is definitely one of the best in the area. The fish had a crispy batter. We dined in and the service was very quick even though there were several guest and they were busy with take-out orders. In the past, I have had other items like the lobster roll with mayo, stuffed quahogs, tuna melt, lobster bisque, fried shrimp, clam roll and every thing has always been delicious. They even have desserts. Cute diner like atmosphere.

My nieces and I decided to try someplace new. When they heard “Chad’s Chowder House,” they thought the restaurant would be snooty, when they saw the store front, they didn’t know what to expect! What we received was delicious food, friendly service, and good prices for what we received!
When the server found out I had a good allergy, the owner came out and helped me find items I could eat. She was considerate, patient, and extremely helpful.

The Portuguese clam cakes were crazy good. But the lobster roll and fries were the worst. Apparently this is a $20 lobster roll. The smallest hot dog bun with no flavor and a couple of, not chopped up, pieces of meat.

I have been coming here for many years. Approximately 30. My grandmother use to take me here when they were located on route 138. I fell in love with their chowder and grilled cheese then. I have been coming to them since having their world’s famous chowder that I simply can’t get enough of. The owner is always so sweet and kind. I even know someone who worked there a long time ago. Their chowder is very rich and creamy and done unlike any other chowder before. They have the BEST clam cakes too

In my opinion it’s the best seafood take out spot in the local area they do also offer a small eat in area. Hands down my go to spot for clam cakes. I have been going here as long as I can remember, something over 15 years an it has always been consistently great food an a great staff. If you havent tried this place put it too the top of your list on your next seafood binge!

The first time I’ve tried the food here, we were ordering from Doordash. I called to ask what kind of fish they use for their fish and chips. The owner came to the phone and answered my question. I was so pleased with the food. We ordered clam cakes, chowder, and fish and chips. The best seafood l have had in the Somerset area EVER!!!! Definitely a good place to eat.

By far the worst food I’ve ever eaten in 32 years. The only good thing was the clam chowder which was probably purchased from a soup purveyor. Everything was cold and flavorless. The onion rings weren’t even covered when we got it. I looked into the bag and they were wide open. They were the most generic frozen supermarket onion rings I’ve ever seen. They were also 80% stale breading. The clam strips were also frozen/supermarket strips that were thick and hard as a rock. The clam cakes were okay but nothing spectacular. The French fries were dry and stale. The cole slaw was also mediocre. I am dumbfounded at how bad everything was and how store bought frozen everything was. I know I’m from cape cod but damn man. At least make something fresh. I just wasted $40 on food I could have got at save a lot. I’m sorry for being harsh but I’ve never been so turned off that I’ve just thrown everything away. I’ve had clam strips all over the place and this is the first time ever ever had someone sell them frozen and not fresh. The customer service was the only truly nice thing other then the chowder. The girls were super sweet. I will not be back though. That was atrocious and I have NO clue how they have a good rating and how people think this is food.

The person I bought it off of recommended Chad’s. It was amazing!
We got 2 ,1/2 gallons of the seafood bisque and clam chowder. The girl working the register was super nice and said it’ll be about 20 minutes because the owner makes everything fresh. When it was ready the owner brought out with some home cooked love! She was so nice and friendly. Thank you! It was the best soup/chowder I have ever ate. 5 stars is not enough!

Little shack with a big surprise, the food was amazing. The fried crab cakes were so delicious. Clam and seafood chowder were great as well. I would recommend a stop here.
