The fish was awesome (and I’ve had a lot of fish at different places), service was friendly. I don’t reckon around $20 or so is bad for an all you can eat buffet nowadays. The hush puppies were good, as was the fries and slaw. The tartar sauce even looked homemade. They had dessert, which I was too full to eat lol. I was told this place has the best fish in the area, now I understand why everyone says that!

The absolute best fried catfish in the country. This place has been my gold standard for my entire life for fried fish. The cornmeal breading and perfect level of salt and spices make every bite perfect. The owners and staff are super nice and always friendly. Great for large parties due to ample seating, but they also do reasonably priced to-go plates.
I do wish they would use less single use plastic products.

Thee Premiere place for catfish. I live in Seattle. I will never look at another catfish place again without comparing it to this place. Hospitality was great too.
And yes…I eat syrup with my catfish.

When I think of buffet, I think variety. This place has all you can eat fries, corn, fish, hush puppies, and slaw. Sometimes the fish is hot and fresh and good, other times the fish is cooked too hard and not seasoned. You get 2 can drinks which are usually flat. Definitely overpriced but available if you want fish.

Overpriced, 21 dollars for that type of selection of food which wasn’t much. Food was little and unseasoned. The server however was great she constantly checked on us.

BUFFET only in country style setting. The fish is well cooked. Small strips instead of fillets and the flavor was good. Not much in the way of sides just slaw, fries, hush puppies which is fine for fish lovers. No dessert options. Very poplar with locals and easy access from interstate for travelers. They start clearing the buffet and cleaning about 30 minutes before closing. It’s hard to enjoy your food when all you can smell is Fabulouso. I will visit again and try to arrive earlier and make plans for ice cream afterwards

Always a treat going to Country Catfish! Good folks, I know the owner personally, and the waitstaff are incredible! There’s been the occasional hit-and-miss times here, but if we’re honest what restaurant hasn’t had those times? I’ve seen people complain that $20 per plate is too much, but for crying out loud, there aren’t many places left now where you can eat a good meal for less, much less an all you can eat meal. They’re only opened on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 4 till 9, but if you’re coming through I-55 one of those evenings, peel off at Oakland and get some good fried catfish. And by the way, if you don’t feel like you’d be able to eat your money’s worth on the buffet, they one plate options, as well as chicken plates, and shrimp plates.
