The food was phenomenal!
I couldn’t praise the team enough for how welcoming they were during our visit.
Service was fast, efficient, and discreet, with staff offering excellent wine recommendations to pair with our meal. We dined in the charming courtyard, which provided a perfect, intimate atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious — every course was a delight.
Overall, this is an exceptional restaurant with a warm ambience, top-quality service, and outstanding food. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.
This is a treat, not cheap, but you get what you pay for – superb food and wines with sublime, natural old-school hospitality, formal if you want, fun too if you are.
A must visit, if I had to answer my favourite ever restaurant I think this is it!
Back again and beautiful surroundings and wonderful staff. A roaring peat fire welcomed us on a cold night. Starters excellent, lamb and steak excellent as well as monk fish. Unfortunately the 2 dishes of seabass came out luke warm and had to be sent back so unsure what happened. Its still a wonderful restaurant and we will return. Enjoyable evening.
Wonderful food in a family restaurant. Beautiful setting and staff service is excellent without imposing. A must visit. Great quality and worth the price.
Welcoming reception, with aperitif by the fireplace / bar. Romantic atmosphere. Exactly what my ideal restaurant looks like.
Romantic atmosphere, inside and outside, beautiful pation (where you can eat in the summer), earth tones. A bit classic and French, but not stiff. Just fine. Cozy, despite the rain that falls, which is rare here..
This restaurant has been around for more than 25 years and has a well-deserved Michelin mention. The daughter has taken over the business from her parents. She is a perfect hostess. Valentim Carmo is a great chef, who can not only make traditional dishes, but can also conjure up vegetarian and vegan dishes.
The staff, who have been here for a long time, are very nice and professional, but not stiff. They also have humour.
Being a Portuguese family from Faro we have an extensive local knowledge of Portugal, especially within the Algarve. We dined here June 2017 for birthday celebrations.
Where to start when something is just so wonderful.
The staff are delightful – the ownership are dedicated, extremely professional and copiously helpful. The staff are knowledgeable about their menu and can advise to your specific criteria. This is particularly brilliant as once you see the menu, it is tough to make a decision as everything looks delicious. In short, the staff are fabulous, attentive and the service is impeccable.
The venue is as cute as a chocolate box – intimate, romantic and simply delightful. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but if possible, the courtyard at the front has the most spectacular seating. As this only seats approx 5-6 tables, the ambiance is almost personal. The open roof spans across the sky giving you a romantic view of the stars if you dine at night.
The tableware is silver, sparkling as you enjoy dinner by candlelight.
The food was fresh, delicious and the best French cuisine in Portugal. The menu choice is extensive and the wine selection is to die for. All staff are also particularly attuned to their wine list and knowledge so can help you with picking your favourites.
In short, if this place is not on your holiday list then you will be missing out. Be sure to reserve in advanced as this place has a long waiting list.
