I visited Volcano Japanese Restaurant around 8 PM on a Friday. Even for a weekend night, I was seated immediately. The atmosphere is great, offering both indoor and outdoor seating along with a full bar.
I ordered the Flaming Volcano and the Polar Bear Roll, and both were delicious. The Flaming Volcano is a must-see—it’s quite the spectacle when it arrives at the table set ablaze! To drink, I had the whiskey sour, which was perfectly made.
What really stood out was the service. My waiter was kind, attentive, and handled a mistake with my drink order quickly and graciously. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great sushi and a fun atmosphere.

Have been going here over a year on and off and always had relatively good experiences for the most part. A little pricey but decent quality. I know recently they have been going through some management/ employee changes it seems and not for the better. They literally are giving HALF of everything what they previously gave on the sashimi/ sushi order that i normally get. Tgey didnt even add in any complimentary soy sauce and are even using less garnish.I mean would you be happy if your order that you normally have been getting was reduced but you are paying the same price? Maybe this is a one time mess up but if this is the way they are going to operate from now on theres no reason to go there anymore. Sad to see this happen

This is definitely the best sushi place I’ve been to in Jacksonville. That said, the service is not the fastest, and you may have to wait a while for anything you order.
The wasabi was soft and fresh, and the ginger was fresh as well. The sushi was mind-blowing.
We’ll definitely recommend and visit again.

Cute place, BUT not food allergy safe. They fry up everything together. Example if you want to eat sweet potato roll. Guess what? You CANT eat it because they fry everything together. I expressed the concern to them, but didnt accommodated the shellfish allergy. But you can eat fish if you want. The spicy tuna roll was okay. Not tasty very bland. Waitress was great, friendly, helpful.

Was in town visiting friends that took me out to lunch here. I only wish I lived closer I would eat here weekly, the food was soo delicious and top notch service.
Had a nice lunch of ginger salad, spicy tuna rolls and chicken hibachi. Our server Maya was attentive and made great recommendations including her own recipe for a coconut cream lemon drop martini that was the best way to end the meal.
Will 100% be coming back my next trip to Jacksonville.

Went here for my Birthday and it was a nice Time. Food was so Fresh and delicious and service was amazing. Waitress was very attentive and the Atmosphere was really nice. They also have a Happy hour that ends at 6pm so if you’re looking for an Happy Hour you must try.

Volcano Japanese Restaurant is a gem! I ordered the Dragon Roll and Spicy Crab Roll — both were incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The spicy crab had just the right kick, and the Dragon Roll was beautifully done. I also tried cold sake for the first time, and it was amazing — smooth, crisp, and refreshing. The vibe is great, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

By far one of my favorite places to go for sushi. The food is fresh, their hot sake is delicious and strong, the wait staff are friendly and patient and the atmosphere is beautiful. It’s perfect for dates or just for eating good with friends

5/5 This was a great dinner experience not planning but we saw this Volcano restaurant and stopped by. Very cozy ambience, low lights and Domique our server has knowledge on the menu, she help us throuh the order and the food arrive just in time after the appetizer were finished. This place deserve another visit.
