Great food. We had this restaurant as a goal when we left Palm Springs. And it was worth it! First of all, the fried chicken is just amazing. Super crispy and great crust ( great batter). We also tried the crawfish bag – spicy and really good. The corn cobs are to die for. Mac and cheese, a bit too greasy for my taste, but my husband loved it. Cornbread is a must.
Met the owner and have to say he really made us feel welcome. Such a nice guy!
Definitely coming back!

Bumped into this place when looking for a place to eat and parked there without realizing there was a restaurant already next to us. They had just opened so the place was quiet but the cashier was very kind and told us it would be a few minutes longer since everything is fresh to order. Good things do take time after all.
We got a large sweet tea to share and got chicken combos. Crispiest, juiciest chicken I’ve had in awhile and the seasoning was just as good. They also have every hot sauce possible so I tried at least three I’d never heard of. You get beans n rice, super cheesy mac ‘n cheese and the softest buttery cornbread ever.
Another man working there took the time to stop by our table and see how we liked the food; he was very kind and told us to recommend to friends so here I am. Please stop by, it’s so worth it!

Best fried chicken in slo county. Dubs has got it going on. Always cooked fresh. So don’t be in a hurry. They cooked order. Food is hot fresh and on point. Fresh ingredients family restaurant. Highly recommend. It’s nice to get some good collard greens in my area. And the red beans and rice are amazing. In the cornbread is like a dessert. Stop in you won’t be disappointed,

You should know soul food is for the heart and soul when you eat it, this is what you taste. Well seasoned and not too spicy (hot sauces available) like a grandma’s home cooking reminds you of. Be patient and it’s worth the wait, hot pipping crispy chicken as folks say the batter is perfect in a Tempura from Japan level. Moist corn bread, loaded bacon greens and Cheese with some macaroni . Pay the price for what you get and support local since we rarely have restaurants like this!

Some of the best food we have had in Paso Robles. We enjoyed fried chicken, catfish, okra, black-eyed peas, red beans and rice and collard greens. Every item was perfectly prepared and tasty. Obviously, freshly made to order. Took me back to my grandmother’s kitchen in North Carolina.
As a bonus to the great food, the place was spotless and very comfortable. It was a cold day outside, and we were warmly welcomed into a warm and clean restaurant.

My husband and I came here for the first time. It was ridiculous, ly amazing! When food makes you dance on your first bite, and not care what you look like as you’re enjoying it, that’s when you know.
The owner was very kind and hospitable. I 1000% recommend it. Perfect southern comfort food.
We got a chicken combo and a crawfish combo. So fresh and juicy!

Absolutely delicious food all around with highly breaded but full of flavor catfish. The cornbread is superb. My only personal complaint is noting more that some of the food being a little salt heavy. Otherwise I can’t wait to go back and try some more mud bugs and especially their chicken. Excellent spot with a very nice and genuine owner.

We were in town to get an overpriced pork chop at a local favorite, then I saw Dubs… best fried chicken? Pork chop and fried catfish??? Wait a minute , need to go in and see what it’s all about. They’re kinda new about a year or more. We love Cajun Creole foods. We lived down in San Bernardino, we used to visit a restaurant in Rialto, Darn good lip smack in food. We decided to give them a try , did not disappoint, great fried chicken piping hot and crispy, catfish was delish, Mac n cheese soo goood. Unfortunately they serve the pork chops only on Sunday and collard greens were still not ready at least for an hour. All in all we really enjoyed our meal. Could use A little more herbs or Cajun spices to really bring out that Cajun flavor, other than that it was worth it. And I didn’t miss not having my pork chop at the other spot. They are about 2 blocks north of the park. Great music playing too, a few TVs oh next time I’ll try their banana pudding and strawberry pudding. They have plenty of hot sauces, or bring your own favorite to add to the collection. Maybe
