Reviews
The atmosphere is clean and features a nice tribute to the local church that was rebuilt in 2023.
Service started well with a quick greeting, but we experienced a 22-minute gap after ordering waters before our server returned. We also discovered they only serve bottled water, as tap isn’t available. Unfortunately, we didn’t see our server again until we were finished with our meal, which prevented us from addressing a few issues with the food in real-time.
The Food
Double Bacon Cheeseburger: The burger patties themselves were excellent, smash-style with a perfect char without being burnt. However, the bacon was significantly undercooked.
Note: the “Double Bacon” name refers to the double patties, not a double portion of bacon.
Bulgogi Wings: These had a great smoky Korean BBQ flavor. We requested them extra crispy, but they came out not crispy, so we didn’t finish them. They were also out of ranch, though the bleu cheese was a fine substitute.
There was a pricing discrepancy: the Double Bacon Cheeseburger is listed at $15.99 on the menu but appeared as $18.25 on the final bill. I’d recommend double-checking your receipt.
The cooks clearly know how to sear a burger, but the attention to detail on bacon doneness, wing texture, and price consistency needs improvement. I hope to see these “growing pains” ironed out, as the flavors show real potential.
However…
The food… Holy moly, it is incredible! Bobby is an artist, and I watched him as he instructed every employee on proper food prep, cooking, and presentation. As long as he stays heavily involved on the food side of things, I will continue coming back.
I have tried their burnt ends and burgers; both were incredible, and their fries are crunchy and full of flavor. The bartenders are also 5 stars easy. Our waitress did a superb job of making us feel both comfortable and well taken care of.
Overall, if you’re looking for a place to enjoy a meal at a good price, this is a great place to spend a few hours. I wish them the best in their business adventure!
P.S. Order the “Rocking Chair”!
The food had a smoky flavor to it, and the hotdog was super juicy and super high-quality the wings following though a bit small Had a ton of flavor and the sauce was impeccable! The old-fashioned was a bit sweet, but other than that was really good!
This is a great addition to our town and I look forward to coming back again many times going foward!
Just tried the pulled pork sandwich… to die for… sweet, tangy accompanied with their tallow fried fries… just a culinary marvel. BBG, you are the best place in Kansas!!!
