Our family-owned pho restaurant has been serving local customers with authentic Vietnamese food for over a decade. We inherited our family’s recipes and decided to re-introduce to our local community the original oxtail beef noodle soup (pho duoi bo), the traditional Southern style beef stew (“bo kho”), and our unique, flavorful pork porridge (“chao long”). In April of 2017, we opened Pho Nhy with the focus to provide high quality pho to the community, served with fresh ingredients and spices. Our mission is not only to serve high-quality, home-cooked meals to our customers, but also to provide welcoming and attentive service to each and every patron. Our goal is to have every customer leave with happiness and satisfaction.

Ordered oxtail pho and beef stew. Both with thin rice noodle. After ordering, I realized that I could have ordered porridge of pork organ plus a bowl of oxtail as I really wanted try this too.
Anyway, both dishes are delicious! Meat is tender and full of flavor.
It’s been awhile since I’ve tried a new pho spot
My favorite spot Pho Ha Noi now has locations in San Jose, Cupertino, Palo Alto and Fremont and is a successful chain
Today was a chance to try a mom and pop shop
Pho Nhy is on McKee Road and the options here are sparse. The prior pho spot was one of my lowest rated pho spots I had tried
But I heard this new establishment and the nearby Duc Huong sandwiches had renewed food cred of the area
Their signature is the beef stew which I really enjoyed with flat rice noodles and the pho oxtail
Soup flavors were solid and both fresh flat and regular rice noodles are available
The Hainan chicken was a bit lean but overall this is a surprising find for the area
Bo Kho $16.50 ~ Beef Stew, Large, Rice Noodles / Pho Tai Duio Bo $15 ~ Large Pho with Flank Steak and Oxtail / Hainan Chicken with Rice $16

The broth, while darker, tasted flat and lacked the depth or complexity I expect from a well-developed pho base. I appreciate that they offer a variety of meats, but the flavors and textures didn’t marry well with the fresh noodles or the broth itself.
On top of that, it was expensive for a regular combo pho and a cup of tea. It came out to over $19. For that price, I was expecting something more memorable.
In San Jose, where there’s no shortage of great pho spots, Pho Nhy fell short. The broth didn’t taste developed or good enough to justify the cost.
