The tacos were flavorful and had a nice kick of spice. The meat was tender and juicy, and the toppings were fresh and tasty. However, it was on the pricey side. It’s not authentic Mexican tacos but close enough.
They have a few tables right outside the takeout window so you can enjoy the views while you eat. Be prepared for a long wait to order the food, which made the service also slow.
I was a bit skeptical of how tacos in a state where Mexican food is not as common could offer. However, I was proven wrong.
Overall, I had a great experience at this taco truck and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some delicious and authentic Mexican food in West Virginia.

I love tacos and l love this place! Basic menu with delicious food. Option to eat indoors or out. Service was friendly and fast. Menu options are very affordable. I especially like that they have the option to add an egg to your bowl, which made me return the next morning after eating there for lunch the day before.

2nd trip….update. no alcohol allowed on front porch. Menu is not diverse (I don’t see quesadillas anymore) but man those tacos are good. My dining partner got 3 ground beef. I got one of each ….ground beef, carnitas and honey chipotle chicken. They are all incredible (up there with any taco I have had) but that ground beef one is so tasty. Mexican Coke is always great to see.

In my younger days when we visited and traversed the Mountain State we just hoped to find a custard stand that stayed open late and served some sort of food. Now you stumble across a place like this. Amazing. The food was knock your socks off good and the place is so unique.

First of all, fell in love with Thomas alone, but this place is not only charming but delicious.
Small and inviting environment with friendly staff, good vibes, and lovely music.
Grabbed the taco meal with the beef and molasses chicken and was not disappointed in addition to the rice, beans, and grilled plantains.
Highly recommend for anyone rolling through this cozy town in the middle of the mountains.

My son and I ate here after going to Blackwater Falls. I saw this town on a Tik Tok and had to stop. It was the cutest little town ever! I was actually way more impressed by these tacos than the falls. The best tacos I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of tacos! The restaurant is in a cute old house. You order at the counter and there are a few tables. Nothing fancy but everything is in that paper box that you need! Two months later that I’m writing this review and these tacos stay on my mind. And the plantains! So good.

I love coming here whenever I pass through Thomas. These are some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. I love the pork carnitas especially. There might be a wait but the food is well worth it, especially with their outdoor dining options.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Picnic Taco! I found the place by Google Reviews, and read that they have delicious tacos and plantains. I was not disappointed. The location is great. I love the cute little building and the outdoor seating. We really enjoyed our tacos and also the delicious plantains. It was my first experience eating plantains and they were delicious. I had the chicken tacos and the ground beef. My favorite was the locally sourced ground beef! We will definitely visit again!

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently. Those tacos were literally out of this world. When you are in Thomas and you don’t try this ( unless you don’t like tacos ), then definitely you are missing out on the best tacos. ❤️
