Quite the contentful meal for my wife and I (both vegetarian). We didn’t have any bad dishes, some stood out more than others. Stand out dishes: veggie gyoza (pan fried), tofu yakitori (skewers), yakisoba (made to be vegetarian), an espresso creme brulee (don’t recall the exact name). Other dishes we enjoyed: miso soup, edamame, all 5 veggie yakitori skewers (tofu, shishito peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, asparagus), sweet mango signature maki roll, sweet potato roll, yakisoba noodles (made vegetarian, served hot).
I’d go back, particularly, for the stand out dishes I mentioned and would have plenty of food to enjoy as a vegetarian.

The omakase sampler was excellent and highly recommended. The edamame is made with garlic and chili. We tried the Dynamite roll and the Summer roll. The dynamite roll is made with soy bean skin rather than seaweed. For desert the creme brulee was really good.

Spicy tuna crispy rice was so bad? Barely any tuna, and deep fried rice, not just crispy. I’ve never had anything like it before.
Chirashi was okay, but some of the fish didn’t taste fresh. I would not go here again.

Kind of shocked about how high the rating is. I had the crispy skin salmon rice bowl dish and it was one of the worst dishes ive ever had. It tasted stale and just had a weird texture to it. We had the scallops for app and it was not fresh tasting, was just one scallop thinly sliced for 16 dollars. My fiancé’s yaki noodle dish was OK. Not worth the money. Atmosphere is OK.

The good: The crispy spicy tuna appetizer was great. The Snow Queen halibut was absolutely incredible. The fish quality in the sushi is high across the board.
The less-good: I ordered a signature maki (the Ice and Fire) and did not like it. The Salmon Mentai was way too salty. The tofu skewer’s breading was soggy.
At this price point, one of my criteria for 5-star is that I can order anything off the menu – and even if I assumed I wouldn’t like it, the chef would be good enough to change my mind. This doesn’t meet that bar.

Situated at the farther end of Witherspoon St, about 10 minutes’ walk from Princeton Public Library, Elite Five is a nice new addition to the highly competitive Princeton dining scene, or rather Princeton fine-dining scene.
Very convenient parking at the adjacent 100 Albert Way Parking (covered, small fee).
The menu is quite intriguing; with the usual pan-Asian/ Japanese specialties such as gyoza, about 15 varieties of yakitori, sushi, sashimi, maki, chirashi, regular and specialty rolls, the restaurants offers such dishes as spaghetti carbonara, braised oxtails, braised short rib, rib eye steaks, etc.
Our appetizers, Cured Scallops and Cured Cold Smoked Yellowtail Tuna featured pleasing art of plating.
The food quality is good, the portions are of decent size (with the exception of maki), the service is efficient. During the pandemics, the outside dining area offers good distance between the tables. There are no dessert served right now due to the staff shortages.
The pricing is slightly elevated as per value vs quality.
Overall, Elite Five definitely merits a visit.

Very Good Sushi and other dishes. Did not disappoint at all, staff were also very nice and accommodating. The photos should speak for the quality of the food. Definitely on the pricier side, but considering that it’s Princeton it’s priced accordingly.
