We chose Lotus Thai because of the fairly high ratings and were hoping for a solid Thai meal while in Memphis. Unfortunately, the food ended up being pretty mediocre and not very authentic.

The Pad Thai lacked flavor and had very little meat. It also came without bean sprouts, which are typically a key component and add texture and freshness to the dish. The drunken noodles were also disappointing — they didn’t use the usual wide rice noodles you’d expect, and there was barely any sauce. The meat was sliced thin but sparse, and overall the dish just didn’t have the bold, savory flavor drunken noodles are known for.

The one bright spot was the tom kha soup, which was actually quite good — creamy, balanced, and flavorful.

Service was fast, and the location is convenient in a strip mall with plenty of parking, making it easy to access. However, while the logistics were smooth, the food itself fell below expectations. If you’re looking for truly authentic Thai flavors, this may not be the place.

I had such a great experience here! The restaurant is clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with hanging lights and festive touches. It felt cozy and welcoming right away.

The food was delicious:

• Tom Yum Soup was full of flavor with lots of fresh mushrooms and just the right amount of heat.

• Grilled Pork Skewers with Sticky Rice were perfectly cooked and came with a super tasty dipping sauce.

• Papaya Salad (Som Tum) was fresh, crunchy, spicy, and so refreshing.

• Larb (Minced Chicken Salad) had bold flavors and came with fresh greens — really satisfying.

I also loved the small touches like candle-lit tables and friendly service.

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food in Memphis with a chill atmosphere, this is the place. Highly recommend!

We recently dined at a lovely Thai restaurant in Bartlett and was pleasantly impressed. The interior was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and prompt.

We ordered the drunken noodles, green curry, and seafood curry, and all three dishes were flavorful and well-prepared. The drunken noodles had the perfect balance of spice and savoriness, the green curry was rich and aromatic, and the seafood curry was packed with fresh, tender seafood.

Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone craving authentic Thai flavors. A great spot for a cozy meal!

Disappointing. Passing through from Nashville. My first time visiting this restaurant. This was NOT Thai food in my experience. I ordered the fresh shrimp spring rolls, and the Thai basil fried rice. The fresh shrimp spring rolls had no shrimp but artificial crab meat. The Thai basil fried rice had no basil, and was a simple fried rice. For $26 bucks

Our main courses were enjoyable; however, the deep-fried shrimp was overcooked, and the crab Rangoon had very little filling with almost no crab. We were disappointed with the mango pie, as it was quite firm and we anticipated a softer texture.

Great food. The fresh rolls with the cilantro lime sauce was incredible! We also ordered Tom Yum soup, fried spring rolls and Pad Thai. All tasted fresh and nicely prepared. The Pad Thai fed more than enough for two with leftovers.

One of my favorites Tai restaurant to go to. Ordered their red curry and crab Rangoon and green curry, super tasty. You can choose your own protein to add on.

I’m in Memphis for work and really wanted good Thai food. I was lucky enough to find Lotus Thai through a Google search.

Oh my goodness- this is the best I’ve had! I ordered spicy edamame and Curry Noodle (chicken and tofu) at a spice level 4/10.

The edamame is perfectly steamed with a delicious spicy sauce. I only regretted my husband was not able to share this with me (I’m traveling for work)!

For the curry noodle I requested a thin rice noodle and added tofu to the base protein of chicken. The tofu was the star of this dish and I wished I had ordered more of it. The sauce is mildly spicy and slightly sweet. It was a perfect sweetness for me, as some Thai restaurants do overdo the sweetness.

I’ll be in Memphis for the next few weeks and I will be back to try the Tom Yum soup!! Will report back.

Btw, the place was so cute when I picked up my takeout. I had to take a pic!
