We took a detour thru Sandy Valley on our trip and stopping at The Tabletop Cafe was an unexpected highlight! Laid back, very clean and looks like very recently renovated. Great service, delicious meal and a perfect place to make a pit stop! Thank you and we hope to see you again! Toby+Iva

I have had dam near everything on the menu and it NEVER disappoints. After eating lunch/dinner I close it out with the flourless chocolate cake with ice cream. WOW so good.
Every time I dine in or order to go, all of the staff is very attentive, very welcoming, and remembers the ranch for me when sometimes I forget to add it! Now that’s great customer service!
I will continue to always eat here. Always clean, food comes out quick, and I enjoy being here.

This place is awesome, with great food and great service. This place is so much better than any restaurant in the valley. I’d say this place is number one, and the taco truck is second they even took my feedback about the patty melt of adding double or triple patty. Felt like my voice was heard and listened to. And the chef, I don’t know who you are, but thank you for making me and my girlfriend date night wonderful. I highly recommend this place. Good, great food. Finally, a place in the valley that has good food definitely blows the snack shack out of the water. Bring your family and friends. And try The Tabletop Cafe.

Update: The owner reached out to me and provided a follow up to my experience. It was much appreciated since most places do not own up in the way that this cafe did! I’m hopeful that my critiques were taken into account, and that the food has improved. I recommend supporting this business.
Initial review: All the reviews for this place seem legit and we decided to give it a try. However, we were greatly disappointed. We ordered Grandma’s pot roast and the old school patty melt. The pot roast was the smallest portion ever and the meat was so dry and over cooked. Almost burnt. It’s not worth the $18. I would give it 2/10. The old school patty melt lacked flavor and was tiny. I would give it a 4/10.
Overall, I am not sure why this place has such great reviews. I had high hopes but was unsatisfied. The service is great and they brought our our takeout order to our vehicle. For these prices and portions/quality of food, I would recommend visiting the pioneer saloon instead.

My husband and I decided to take a slight detour to Primm, California, before heading back home to Florida. We took a side road that led us to another road, and we found ourselves in Sandy Valley, California.
We were hungry, so we searched for food nearby, and our only option was The TableTop Cafe. My husband is a firm believer that the best food comes from those little hole-in-the-wall restaurants, but I’m a little more cautious.
We pulled up, and the building was slightly older, so we checked the reviews. They were great, and the restaurant had received an A on its inspection. So, we decided to go inside and give it a try.
The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest lady names Rebecca (maybe the owner, I didn’t ask) . We placed our order, and she continued to share some local secrets so we could experience true California fun.
The food arrived surprisingly fast, and it was absolutely delicious. My husband and I kept making little comments about how good it was!
We will be back in Las Vegas next year and we will 100% make the detour back to The TableTop Cafe.

This is a cozy, modern cafe in a rustic, no traffic-light, dusty town. The mountain views, sunrise and sunsets are stunning. They have comfort food that you simply can’t get anywhere around, and it’s really good. If you go, you’ve got to try the Maple Bacon Burger, it’s amazing. I personally have never liked Pot roast, but there not only did I eat it, I actually liked it. All though it’s a small town, the owner is a smart, whitty, well traveled lady with a great smile, and a sense of humor that will make you think and laugh. They’ve got a few monitors on the walls, so you can catch a game, while you enjoy your meal, and your company. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and relaxed; a real departure from the typical greasy spoon you’d find in these “off the beaten path” little towns. I’d encourage anyone traveling to the area to take a short detour – grab a bite, have a beer or a glass of wine, catch the game, and walk out with a belly full of unprocessed food, and a great memory; you won’t regret it!

Delicious food and terrific service. New owner and recently renovate and looks super pretty. Extremely clean. Bathroom was one of the cleanest we’ve ever seen, ever. The owner is so nice and great to talk with. Food was reasonably priced. I’m very particular about how I prefer burgers cooked and it was Perfect. They offer impossible burgers for plant based eaters too. Will visit again for sure

My wife and I were passing through Sandy Valley and decided to stop and grab a quick bite to eat while we planned out the rest of our trip. “WOW!” Is the best way to describe our experience. The food was AMAZING and the service was fast and friendly. We almost decided to wait a little longer to eat, but I am thankful we didn’t and gave this place a try.
