I’m on a quest to find the best chimichanga on planet earth, and that quest led me here, to Los Favs. On the universal 13 point scale of chimichanga deliciousness, this one scored a respectable 11 points. Good presentation, decently crispy tortilla, good balance of guac and sour cream, and I appreciated the lettuce and pico de gallo on top. It’s one of the best chimis you can get from a budget Mexican food chain, but it isn’t the best on the planet, let alone Arizona.

Presentation: 9/10
Taste: 8.5/10
Portion: 8.5/10

The Good: Best Carne Asada fríes so far in the area. The red salsa was spicy with great flavor, the green is solid like always. Portion size was great, filled me up without putting me in a food coma. Vibes were chill, place was clean. One of the best agua de Jamaica I’ve had. Bonus points for being next to Somi Somi.

The Bad: The cheese was the only thing that threw it off a bit, there was a little too much, it tasted kind of prepackaged, and it was cold, which messed with the flavor. Still good overall, but next time I’ll probably swap it for Cotija. Also, it’s a bit of a drive for me, so eating it there is the move to keep everything fresh. Another thing I hate is having to change the order, I had to order no pico.

I’m pretty sure my post was taken down yesterday so I’m back again today, to post about how bad of an attitude the cashier had last night

I ordered a chorizo plate and received a chorizo burrito in its place. There are real issues in the world and I was going to simply eat the burrito but my wife said I should say something, given how much of an attitude the man/lady had with us (for spending money I guess)

Instead of being accommodating and making a fresh plate, which I said I could pay the difference for, the man/lady told the cooks to simply unfold the burrito and plate it (thank goodness I understand Spanish)

Poor service, I didn’t touch the burrito (again) but figured a poor survey should be given since I spent $70 at this location for my family and myself

So disappointing. Other locations are better. Ordered the taco & cheese enchilada combo, a beef chimichanga, and a breakfast burrito. Taco was dripping with oil. Enchilada had cold shredded cheese inside. Chimichanga which was lukewarm at best. All served on styrofoam plates so impossible to cut without going straight through. Oh a small side of sour cream was $2.60. Bleh. Never coming back.

There are truly few things better in this life than a chorizo burrito from Los Favs. The pleasure I receive from walking in here at any hour of the day, adding that red sauce, and taking a bite into this burrito is nothing short of a religious experience. The tortilla, soft yet sturdy, cradles the perfect balance of sizzling chorizo eggs, and molten cheese-each bite a hymn sung in the key of indulgence. The red sauce, spicy and unapologetic, baptizes my taste buds in pure bliss, a ritual l willingly partake in time and time again.

There is no sorrow a Los Favs burrito cannot mend, no fatigue it cannot erase. It is sustenance, it is comfort, it is poetry wrapped in paper. Some seek enlightenment in faraway lands; Ifind mine here, beneath the neon glow of this sacred temple of late-night salvation.

After every experience, all that remains is gratitude.
Thank you, Los Favs

I’ve been coming here for years and mine as well be this places spokesperson. I market for this place and I’ll die on the fact that they have the best breakfast burritos in the valley.

Any breakfast burrito is great. Tortillas always taste fresh.

Service is always great.

Inside, I think it’s time to possibly renovate a little bit. All the tables and chairs give you a 1980s vibe, but not on purpose. I understand it’s not fine dining, but it’s been this way for a decade or more.

I’ll keep coming back until breakfast burritos hit $9.99. I remember back when they were like $5 🙁

Keep going your thing and I’ll keep spreading the word.

Be careful requesting Carne Asada to upgrade any dish on the menu! The cashier might not mention the added cost for their Asada. Especially at this visit of this review. The over priced add on fee and the quality and taste of the Meat itself is something the owner should look into instead continuing to serve the cheapest quality beef for its Carne Asada! its price and taste is nothing close to actual True Mexican Carne Asada skirt steak or flank steak for the outrageous add on fee.

Hit the spot!! The chicken California burrito was a healthy serving of chicken, cheese, and a bunch of other chopped goodies (see pic). There was no potatoes in the burrito, like there is in some places. This was 100% packed with meat cheese and sauce. The chicken has good flavor but it is very slightly over cooked. The staff were also friendly and provided good service. They don’t have free hot carrots, that does cost extra. They do have free red and/or green hot sauce. I recommend the red for those that like hot. Green was mild but has good flavor. The environment is light and social. There is low volume Mexican music playing in the background but you can easily hold a conversation at the table. They’re open late and I’m traveling from out of town, so I definitely recommend this for late night munchies.

Excellent service! I didn’t know what to order because it was my first time, and Zaira took great care of me. She was very kind and recommended some dishes, and I ended up loving them. It was a pleasure, and of course I will be coming back!

The “carnitas” aren’t carnitas at all, they’re basically sliced pork chops, and the flavor was… what I imagine dog food tastes like.

The chicken taco has peppers cooked into the meat, so heads up. Definitely not your typical taco.

I ended up tossing almost everything, so that $30 turned into a very expensive glass bottle of Coke.

I won’t be back, maybe for a bean and cheese, since that’s probably the only thing they can’t mess up.
