Falafel Taco in Pleasantville is a standout spot offering a truly unique fusion of Jewish, Middle Eastern, and Mexican cuisine. The black bean falafel tacos, latkes with avocado hummus, and chicken shawarma burrito were all flavorful, well executed, and unlike anything else in the area. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and balanced. Friendly owners and a welcoming atmosphere make this a must visit for anyone looking for something different and memorable.

Their food is amazing. Their service is very welcoming. They make sure your order is ready on time, they treat you politely and call you by your name after you have ordered from them a couple of times. They tell you about events they host and invite you to join. They also keep the place nice and cosy. It’s quiet enough to go study there, on a date or simply enjoy a peaceful meal. Nice music to enjoy, in multiple languages (makes you feel like you’re in a cafe in a world capital).
They are totally the opposite from their deli neighbours across the street…

The rice in the burrito was undercooked. The rice in the burrito was hard and undercooked. The vegan veggie bowel had barely any vegetables. The vegetables were good but the bowel was mostly plain couscous. We have a baby and asked for a small side of avocado for him. They charged my mom $9 for literally a plain avocado with nothing in it knowing it was for the baby. The vegetable portions are small, the food is over priced, the rice hard and undercooked, and they are very cheap with their vegetables even when you purchase a vegetable based item. The falafel was also not good. I love Israeli food and I enjoy Mexican food. But this place was not ideal. I definitely regret the money I spent here. I should have went to Lulu kitchenette across the street. Their stuff can be pricey but at least it’s good! I’m really shocked by the good reviews cause that was not the food I experienced at all, maybe I had to get something else but for an Israeli place to have bad falafel I take that as a sign everything else must taste bad too. Falafel tasted flavorless and stale.

The felafel was delicious and my son loved the ropa vieja burrito. The sweet potato fries were perfectly executed.

Such a great place with yummy creative food. The vegan bowl is my favorite (the crispy cauliflower and eggplant are the best) and you can’t go wrong with falafel (traditional or black bean). my husband loves the grilled fish bowls and the mexican matzoh ball soup.
The blend of spices on all their food is delicious. There are a few casual tables in and outside, but we usually do takeout, which is packaged really well.

Excellent food with great flavor. If you don’t like spice (heat) be sure to mention it.

A local favorite in Pleasantville. I have eaten here a couple times but this was my first time getting the Tele Aviv (fish) and it was delicious!! The flavor was bursting out. I do wish that they added a little more filling as the laffa was a bit thick so it was a lot of dry chewing. I will be back though and I would get this again too! Very filling!
