Craving for an afternoon “snack” after 2 hours on the road. Stumbled upon this eatery….what a delightful surprise! We were greeted by a friendly and courteous staff as we entered the restaurant. Spacious, clean and beautifully decorated restaurant. Don’t let the exterior of the restaurant fools you…ordinary outside, fancy inside. We placed our orders of shrimp papaya&mango salad, shrimps on sugar canes, pho beef noodle soup and Vietnamese coffee. Didn’t have to wait long before the yummies came out. I have had numerous mango & even papaya salads but none as good tasting as this one! A must try!! Very affordable in my opinion. Parking is quite convenient across the restaurant. Definitely will come back for more when we are in town!

I tried this place out 3 times in total before making this review. The first time was fine, so I will not write about that. But the latter two times were pretty bad especially in terms of service:
My first poor experience was when I ordered bún chả (first picture) and they forgot my order, taking 2 hours to get it to me after my friend and I asked where my main was a few times. It was also 15 minutes before their closing time, so I couldn’t comfortably finish my meal. My friend’s main came out before our starters too, which confused us and even those were really slow to come out. The food overall was alright and I’m saying this as a Vietnamese person… it’s fairly salty in comparison to other restaurants. I’d only say the portions of the mains are good for the cost.
The second time I had a bad experience was yesterday. The server kept asking if we were ready to order when we literally just sat down. We had to ask for a few more minutes like 3 times and it felt like she was being short with us. Later on during this service, she took away my food before even asking if I was done with it. We wanted to take the portion of noodles and vegetables I couldn’t finish (4th picture) from my platter in a takeaway box, but for some reason she just took the food really fast before we could say anything. We eventually managed to ask for a box so we could takeaway the rest though, but her lack of patience throughout the entire meal was uncomfortable and frustrating. I doubt I’d come back ever again, but it was just convenient to go here since it’s right next to Là Lá. I’d recommend going to other, better Vietnamese restaurants in KW.

The food was honestly very delicious. My boyfriend and I both got the Beef Pho Soup, he ordered the combination and I ordered with beef balls and beef. The broth was very delicious and they gave fair portions of meat. my only complaint is that the noodles are of the thicker kind when I personally prefer the thinner. We ordered a side of summer rolls and without exaggeration, they had to have been the best i’ve ever tasted. overal 4/5.

As a Vietnamese person, I was beyond surprised and impressed at the dishes here!! Having been to many Viet restaurants before (mostly in the US), it’s not an exaggeration when I say that the Bun Bo Hue I had here was the best I’ve had outside of Vietnam!!! My bf and I also ordered Bo La Lot + Special Pho and they were super delicious as well. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!!!

Finally gave this spot a try, but it ended up being our least favorite pho location in the region. While the food is decent, but it falls behind the other places we go in terms of flavor and value. When you factor in the parking challenges of Uptown Waterloo, I’d rather drive to Pho Anh Vu next time.
Giving it 3 stars as it doesn’t quite reach the level of Pho Vietnam Soup and Sub in Cambridge (5 stars) or others like Pho Anh Vu/Pho Tran/Pho Sunrise (4 stars).

Most recommended restaurant in Waterloo for Pho though I still have to try it but I had a chance to try their banh mi. The only reason I went there because I was craving one and my favourite place beside it LA La bake shop was sold out. To start off it came to about 10-11$ but when I saw the size the first wave of disappointment hit, as it was the smallest banh mi I ever saw. Meat I ordered was grilled pork and it was really smoky and charred flavour which I liked but it was a little dry meat. Excellent pickled carrots and radish inside and baguette was nice too. Overall it was a above average banh mi but I have had better for sure at this price. Will edit when I will have a chance to try their pho.

I’ve been coming here since the place opened and never been disappointed. The food portions are generous and everything tastes amazing .
The chicken Pad Thai is one of my favorites. I order it at least once a month. I’ve tried almost everything on their menu and never had a bad experience.
The atmosphere is beautifully decorated, and I’m always greeted warmly by the waitstaff. Everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend this place!!!

We’ve been meaning to try this place for some time and are so glad we did! Came here on Sunday with our friends and really enjoyed everything. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was extremely attentive.
My partner and I ordered the chicken wings with chili sauce to start (they also have a fish sauce version which our friends had and thought were also great) and for our mains, we ordered the chicken & pork rice and pad Thai with beef. The portion sizes are massive and the food was delicious. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Other details: we parked in the lot across the street behind the LCBO and walked over. The restaurant is quite spacious and there’s a decent amount of booth seating which is nice however, the bathrooms are in the basement (for those curious about accessibility).

We stumbled on this place in uptown waterloo. I love thai food and especially Pho. This place did not disappoint. It was fantastic and Id definitely add it to my top 4 pho spots in KW. All dishes looked really good and the portions are very generous. Ill be back soon!

The ingredients are super high quality, you can actually taste the difference. Everything is so flavourful, yet well balanced. I always leave full and satisfied.
