What’s great is that you can stay in lodgings at Crystal Mountain and you don’t have to get in your car to get to the best dining in the county. The food here, and the service at The Thistle are magnificent. We had the pork loin and the half chicken—both meats were super tender, moist, and seasoned to perfection. I really like the space, the warm wooden panels, the fireplace. And our server was friendly and kept the plates moving to exceed our expectations. Will be back to try more of the menu.

We visited The Thistle with a large group (17 people) last weekend and had an excellent time. It was easy to make a reservation, by calling a few weeks ahead due to the large group, and everything went off without a hitch thanks to the wonderful staff!
All of the people in our group enjoyed the food, from the appetizers all the way to dessert, and enjoyed the overall experience. In particular, the highlights seemed to be the Thistle Fries, the Roasted Duck, the Filet & Ribeye, and the wonderful seafood starters.
If you are looking for a nice place to have dinner at Crystal Mountain, I would recommend The Thistle!

What an unexpected delight! We literally just Google mapped a place for lunch and we were 15 minutes away so we went for it. So glad we did! I had the delicious salmon BLT with thistle fries and my husband had a delicious rice bowl with chicken. It was fantastic. I should have took a photo but I was too excited to start eating!

No menu!
When we tried to go here, half of the tables were empty but they refused to seat us because they “had no menus.” We asked to use a menu sitting on the bar (which no patrons were at) but they again refused saying “they needed them at the bar.” We then asked to use an “to go” menu, which they said “no.” Then we asked to sit down without a menu, but they again refused. This would have been greatly appreciated since we had 3 kids who just finished skiing, and really needed water. Multiple parties were waiting and had the same problem.
There was no solving the problem, being flexible or working with people. Management was involved and also refused to help.
This is honestly pathetic! It’s a horrible way to run an establishment, especially at a resort relying on tourism! There were multiple options provided by waiting guests, any one of would have been satisfactory!

Comfortable, kid friendly setting with an elevated dining experience. Ours was a multi-family outing, everyone got something different and left pleased with their choices.

Interesting place, mostly focused on drinks. Soup was good but came barely warm. Desert was tiny. Great kids size hamburger, definitely recommend. It was even cut into a square shape.

On our last night at Crystal Mountain, we enjoyed dinner at The Thistle. We liked the cozy, elevated atmosphere of the restaurant although it is a casual fine dining place, where people can grab drinks and dinner after a round of golf or a family can get burgers and wings. The burger is delicious and the upgrade to The Thistle fries was a great decision. We recommend ordering The Thistle fries. We also had the wings with bbq sauce and ranch, a side of the Parmesan risotto, and udon noodles. Everything was flavorful and would be ordered again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! Consistently delicious. The filet will melt on your mouth. Some of the best calamari. The cocktails are top notch. The views are incredible. We went multiple times on our short stay!

I got the side of mushroom risotto and the calamari appetizer. The mushroom risotto was very bland and had way too much lemon. I spent $23 for the calamari and it maybe had 10-20 small pieces. Getting just these two items took over 25 minutes. I’m very disappointed with the food and service so early on in my stay.
