Stephanie our server was attentive and accommodating. Her upbeat spirit and enthusiasm to serve is evident. The food was good especially the gumbo l, fish n chips and chicken wings! Definitely a must!

Food is great. There is a wait on the specialty nights. Jazz and blues play for your enjoyment over the system. Sunsets are beautiful from the patio.

My husband and I celebrated my 60th birthday here on a Sunday. The jazz musicians were exceptional. We opted for the lunch menu: catfish po boy, fish tacos, gumbo, rice and beans. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The wait staff was attentive. We will return!

I was excited to visit as I saw good reviews. It was very underwhelming! I had a reservation but there were no tables available. Once seated we were told that the server would be a little while as there was a large group she was attending to. That’s okay and I understand. So it took quite a while and they didn’t even provide us drinks to surpass the time or quench our thirst. Once she arrived, we made our order and I decided to get the broiled oysters as an appetizer. They were $22. It was a special night out. They were totally overcooked and dried out and were horrible. They never should have left the kitchen and the server never should have served us. As it took so long to get them I didn’t really make a stink over it but I should have. My wife gets embarrassed. My fish and chips were slender little pieces of cod with a thick batter to make them look large. Not a high-end dining experience! The rest of the food was okay. My wife’s fried shrimp were not like a fine dining but something you get at Denny’s. So we passed on dessert. We didn’t feel that it would be of any higher caliber. I won’t go back!

Made reservations this evening for dinner and was looking forward to listening to jazz music as advertised on their website. This was our SECOND attempt. Previously we were there for dinner. Empty tables in the dining room but the waitress would not seat our party of four.?? Tonight there was no music. Decided to stay anyway. Three of the items we ordered were not available. We’re told they needed to change to a new menu. Our waitress was trying to be accommodating but it took forever to get our food. When we finally got the food, it was cool, not hot. After two tries, I think we will pass in the future.

We made a reservation for 5:30 specifically for an outside table. We were visiting for our dating anniversary and wanted something nice, and we were excited to check out a local spot we hadn’t tried before. When we arrived and checked in, the host said “okay” and then walked us straight to an inside table. When we asked about the outdoor seating we reserved, we were told all outdoor tables were already taken. That pretty much defeated the purpose of making a reservation in the first place, but we decided to roll with it since it was our first time here.

Right from the start, the service felt off. As our server began taking our drink and food order, another employee walked up and started talking to her. She stopped speaking to us mid-order to have a conversation with her co-worker. It felt rude and unprofessional. When she finally came back and we gave her our drink order (just a Coke Zero and a coffee — nothing complicated), it took about 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive.

When my wife’s coffee finally came out, it was cold and only came with one sugar. We had to wait again to flag her down for another sugar. Meanwhile, we noticed the table behind us, who arrived around the same time, was getting far more attention than we were. I’m not sure why, but the difference was definitely noticeable.

The table we were seated at was extremely wobbly — shaking back and forth so much that I had to brace it with my foot just to keep it steady.

When it came time to place our food order, I asked if grilled onions were possible. The server assured me it was no problem, so I ordered caramelized onions. When the food arrived, I got a pile of raw onions instead. The food itself was good, but dry, like there was no mayo or sauce on the bun. The coffee tasted bland and watery, and since it was cold and clearly not fresh, we sent it back and got a Sprite instead. The shrimp on my wife’s Po’boy was very good.

Throughout the meal, it felt like we spent more time trying to get the server’s attention than actually enjoying our food. She rarely checked on us, and even when we were ready to wrap up, we had to flag her down multiple times — once for a box, and again to ask whether we were supposed to pay at the table or up front. Even then, it took a while to actually get the bill settled.

Overall, the whole experience was disappointing from start to finish — especially since we came for a special occasion and genuinely wanted to enjoy a nice night out. Between the reservation mix-up, the inattentive service, the mistakes with our order, and the general lack of attention, it left a really sour taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the first impression we were hoping for.

We really like this place. The food is always good and very reasonable. I’ve had a lot on the menu. Red beans and rice is delicious. Today did the shrimp etoufe omelet. It was great and came with house potatoes that were perfect. my dad did the blackened catfish and grits. Catfish was delicious, the grits though do need some work. Needs to be much more creamy. That aside it’s a great little spot.

Came back and had the blackened shrimp and grits. Grits were great and the shrimp was packed with flavor

We had high hopes for our Valentine’s Day dinner at The Hills Gastropub, but the overall experience was disappointing.

We arrived a couple of minutes before our 8 pm reservation and were promptly seated. Since it was a cold and windy night, the restaurant had moved its patio tables indoors. While we appreciated the effort, the execution wasn’t great—the room had bright lighting, no background music, and lacked any romantic ambiance. The only sounds were conversations from nearby tables, which made the space feel more like a conference room than a dining area.

We placed our drink orders, but our waiter seemed disorganized from the start. We requested water immediately, yet had to ask two more times before we finally received it. I ordered a lemon drop martini and an azalea, but both cocktails were bland and lacked flavor.

For appetizers, we ordered the charbroiled oysters, which were tasty and ended up being a necessity since we waited until 9:35 pm for our entrées. The long delay was frustrating, especially for a special occasion. Adding to the confusion, our waiter double-checked our order multiple times, each time reading it back incorrectly—though in the end, our food did arrive as ordered.

Since the restaurant closes at 10 pm, we barely had time to enjoy our meal before the kitchen started cleaning up for the night. To our surprise, the music they played during closing was reggaeton—not exactly what we expected for the atmosphere.

While the food was delicious, the slow service, lack of ambiance, and overall disorganization made for a disappointing Valentine’s dinner. I hope they improve their service and attention to detail in the future.

Stephanie was the only server working and she was great. Attentive, friendly, and on top of her game. I tried the gumbo and let me say, being from New Orleans, it was very well done. Too many chefs outside of south Louisiana seem to think that every Cajun dish must be hyper-spicy. This gumbo had a good flavor (nice dark roux), and just the right amount of spiciness to not overpower the other flavors.
