I tried this place for the first time and I was amazed that the food and service was really good. I seen the other reviews, but our experience was positive. It is very spacious and clean. The waitress was very friendly. She even was able to get us 25% off our bill before 8:00pm. It was Fat Tuesday. They have deals everyday from what I was reading. The food was delicious. I always order my steak well done and you can cut the steak with a butter knife. Cooked perfect! The deep fried pickles was yummy! My husband liked the fish and chips. Go early to avoid the crowd because it looks like people start coming in after 8 for that discount. They also gave us a Mardi gras mask… Love it. The only thing that I didn’t like was the fact they had no rice for my steak. I’m from Hawaii and I need rice with my steak. French fries should be with a burger.. lol. Other than that, you have to try this place and see what kind of deals they have everyday. We will eat here again when we come back to base.

The food at Kahuna Sports Bar and Grill was good, and the inside dining area was clean. However, the Lani wasn’t as clean as I would have liked, and the bathroom had some serious issues.
As my photos show, the AC vent was caked with lint, indicating a long-overdue deep cleaning. Lint scattered on the floor further highlighted their lack of attention to cleanliness.
To make matters worse, there was no soap in the bathroom, and the garbage can was overpoweringly full. You might think the restaurant was bustling with people, causing a strain on the staff to keep up with cleaning. But no, I was the lone patron. They had all the time in the world to ensure the place was spotless. Instead, the waiter was on their phone, sitting down.
Kahuna Sports Bar and Grill, please match your cleanliness standards to the quality of your food. Otherwise, I’m left wondering if your kitchen is as unkempt as your restroom.

Was great when it was just Kahunas quick cheap food and drinks and was always lively, after the rebrand or whatever the prices of everything just about tripled and the atmosphere is non existent. Went to watch AFC Championship it was my group of three and five other people.

Arguably the best food on MCBH. I visited a few spots on the base and this one was too good to not visit again. LOVED the boneless wings – the burgers are good too. Sit at the bar for great service. Definitely will come back the next time i visit!

Food was good. I came here with my family. The bartender was nice and we got good food. I liked mine and my father said it was one of the better burgers he had. Not gourmet but if you’re on base it’s a good option.

Absolutely terrible experience, took us 36 minutes to get 2 waters once we sat down there were 2 tables inside and 2 outside and it took us over an hour And a half to get food.

I normally never leave bad reviews for restaurants, but this is a special case. Where do I begin?
Very poor management. From the moment we walked in, we were scolded (BY THE MANAGER) for not making a reservation, and blamed for them being understaffed since we hadn’t made one (even though there were only two other tables there, and it was Friday at 12pm?). I’m wondering why the place wasn’t properly staffed/prepped? The manager made sarcastic comments about a couple other parties that came after us in regards to not having a reservation.
It took about 30 minutes for us to be greeted by any staff once we were seated. Our drinks took about 40 minutes and consisted of water and bottled beer. Our food (mozzarella sticks and nachos) took an hour and fifteen minutes. And we were told at least three times by the server (who seemed very new and was trying her best, being the only server working and clearly stressed out) that the manager only had one cook and one server working. Still, there were probably four tables total so I’m not sure why it took so long.
Finally…It should be a crime to charge $15 for 5 mozzarella sticks, especially considering that they are frozen/store bought idk how we fell for that.
PROS: the nachos were actually good, when they finally came out. Also, the place had a good atmosphere and was clean. Just extremely poor service. Maybe consider a new manager? Not every role ends up being a good fit for people, it’s just the way it is.

Food is way overpriced and not the best. Portions were small, for the price. The “medium burger” was well done. The nachos were served cold and the complimentary desert “brownie and ice cream” was not edible. Ice cream tasted freezer burned and brownie tasted old. Server was very good and I explained that its not her fault. The atmosphere was ok, too. Manager did comp what she could and was very apologetic. She even offered to give us something else. Having served here years ago, I believe our Narines deserve better and something more affordable.

Not the worst burger I’ve ever had; the sweet potato fries were over cooked and flavorless. Staff was friendly though. Dirty tables and lots of dead bugs in the windows. Eat off base if you can.
