We’re locals to the area and this has become a true go-to spot for us. The sushi rolls are a standout particularly the wagyu beef inside-out roll. The thinly sliced wagyu is perfectly balanced with cucumber and mayo, and the addition of ginger and wasabi lifts it beautifully. It’s an exceptional combination. We also love the crispy chicken roll, with its Japanese-crumbed chicken, avocado and mayo; simple, satisfying and consistently delicious. Always a great experience. Friendly service. One time my phone had died and they even said I could come back the next day to pay which is an example of their amazing staff.(I ended up charging it in my car and paying, but it was a nice gesture)

This is a nice Asian restaurant on the main street. It is a bit out of the way up a flight of stairs, but it is worth the trip up.
I didn’t book a restaurant and that was a huge mistake as everyone was out in town that evening and luckily this place was not booked out.
We ordered 2 rice bowls, or dons. They were really generous with the portions and that filled us up real good.
In terms of the flavours the stir fry Japanese curry Don was not what I expected since my understanding or Japanese curry was a dish with potatoes and carrots and meat, but this one is unique. No potatoes! I think that is am interesting deviation from norm and certainly it did taste good.
Miso soup was hot and I enjoyed it as the evenings were getting cold there.
It’s a good place for a bowl of rice and some toppings, and the other dishes looked good but we didn’t have the chance to try.

King Koy Sushi is absolutely amazing! The food is so fresh and delicious every bite is full of flavor. The ladies working here are incredibly kind, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. Their warmth and hospitality truly make the experience special. If you’re looking for great sushi and wonderful service, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I’m Japanese and I’ll say this is not authentic Japanese.
Tempura coating was really thick.
When I had karaage(JFC) there was cartilage inside.
Authentic Japanese tempura is so light and crispy.
I tried other food my friends were having, some of the food is Chinese.
I guess this restaurant is Chinese and Asian fusion.
Most food tastes ok.

A wonderful little Japanese restaurant serving beautiful sushi and nigri, delectable karaage and other small plates alongside substantial and delicious mains like tonkatsu ramen and noodle dishes. The Bento boxes are also great. Overall good value, the entree and small plates are generous and the prices not too steep.
Service is charming, the vibe is quiet and reserved in an unassuming dining space with some bright abstract art on one wall.
Overall a pleasant and bloody delicious experience! Have been before and had to come back. Will come back again as soon as we’re in Ocean Grove again!

We’ve eaten here a few times now and it always impresses. The food is amazing! Such good value for money. Can highly recommend the Waygu Beef Bento box – marinated beef, sashimi, tempura and rice. Yumbo! Also great are the Chicken Laksa and the Seafood (Kaisen) Ramen. Fab service from the family that run King Koi too. Grab a seat on the balcony overlooking the main street and watch the world go by while feasting on delicious Japanese.

We ordered a serve of pork gyoza (8), garlic prawns and rice. We got it takeaway and took it home (10 mins away). Was very fresh, cooked to perfection (veges included) and generous portions. Prawns were huge (and were an even amount which made sharing easy) The sauce was delicious, and not too much or overpowering so were still able to taste the prawns and vegetables. Photo is of half the order as we shared between 2. Service was friendly, restaurant seemed clean and bright.
