Wow! We tried this place for the first time today, ordered Mac for our daughter, potato wedges and chicken. Firstly, the Mac and cheese was noodles… with no cheese and tastes like mold! Thankfully she changed her mind and wanted a happy meal so she had food to eat when we got home. The chicken is fried, which is fine but has no flavor at all. And the potatoes have no seasoning. They were barely cooked. This has great ratings so I assumed it was going to be good! But we were so disappointed, thankfully we are not close to this location so not a sadness that we will not return. Just unsure why it got 4.1 stars with the terrible of food.

The employee was super helpful and very polite. We ordered and had our food in about 10 minutes. I got to say I was very disappointed in the price and the portions. The same meal I remember from my childhood. I hadn’t been in years. The food was great. Heads up the tartar sauce has Dill in it. It wasn’t overpowering but it was definitely different. If you’re desperate for good fish and chips it’ll suffice but bring your wallet and not much of an appetite.

This simple spot on the eastern edge of Howell is a great option for takeout. This is one of those establishments where you’re in the wrong place if you’re looking for something healthy. This place serves comfort food at its finest. The fried chicken is the highlight. The breading is excellent and the chicken is succulent and juicy. The sides are also very good, with the mashed potatoes and gravy and mac & cheese as features. The taste of the coleslaw might be the only downside for me, as it was a little plain. The service was good as the guys working were friendly, polite and efficient. The value was excellent as a 12-pc. chicken dinner, including lg fries, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, coleslaw and rolls was just over $40. From this, we fed four adults and one young child, with plenty left over for two more people to have another dinner. I was quite happy with this value. We’ll certainly be visiting again.

We’ve given this place so many chances because they usually have good food. They get the order wrong literally every time. I called tonight (9/13) to place a carry out order and instantly got attitude from the lady taking the order. Once we got home from picking up the order we found that the well done fries we specifically requested on the phone order weren’t included with our food.

The chicken was excellent… tasty and juicy, but not greasy tasting. The coleslaw was not my favorite.The potatoes were soupy. I ordered extra tarter sauce for fried clams, which are also very good, but we didn’t receive ANY! Will probably get again, but just the chicken or fish and forget the sides. Make sure you check your order for all you asked for!

Update: Updating our review from 5 stars to 3 stars. For the past year or so when trying to get food it’d never a simple call in order, get food, go home. Often the phone isn’t answered at all or there’s a 90 minute wait. When going in to pick up the quoted time is never accurate and I still end up waiting 20 minutes after I got there when they told me to. The now younger staff ignores you and doesn’t acknowledge you while you’re standing there. Tonight when they said my food was ready they realized they gave our fish dinner to someone else by mistake. No real apology and I need to wait again. The food isn’t as good as before as well. The fish is now hard and dry, I imagine it’s over fried. The fries with a dinner are an after thought, just a spare handful thrown on top of your fish. We don’t visit with the same frequency now due to the above, and since every visit we do take is not simple, I’m changing the stars.

We loved it so much that 3 days later we went back for more. We definitely plan on sharing it with family in the area and agreed it should be the catered food for our next party. The staff is also very friendly and courteous. You have to check this place out! It’s one of our new favorite places to eat!

Cute little place in Howell to get a great homemade chicken dinner. Inside is done up country style, very clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and their online ordering system was easy to use. We tired their assorted 9 piece which comes with mashed potatoes and gravy, co-slaw, and rolls. We also tried their fried pickles (they are the half sliced kind) and ship in a basket, which all of it was delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try out their fish now, as they have quite a selection.

Ordered chicken and cod, I was told a half hour. I was there in a half hour to pick up my food. They started making my food after I got there. I waited 25 minutes inside the store. There were 3 employees on duty, none of them were wearing face coverings. The chicken is good but very, very salty. We had to pick off the breading, it was so salty. The cod was good, but nothing special. Overall the food is decent, but the service is so-so. I expect a better experience for what they’re charging.
