Wow, I am so glad we found this place on our way down to Florida. The ribs are amazing, perfect flavor and fall right at the bone. The staff could not be any nicer and even gave us a free pork steak to try. Highly recommend!

We researched the best BBQ spot between Huntsville, AL and Memphis, TN for a lunch stop, and after a little digging, we landed on Mike’s BBQ House. When I saw that Friday was Rib Day, the choice was easy—even if it meant going a little off the beaten path.

We ordered a half rack of ribs to split, plus a smoked sausage sandwich for me, a jumbo pulled chicken sandwich for my counterpart, and potato salad and baked beans to share. The couple running Mike’s were an absolute delight, and since we came around 2 p.m., after the lunch rush and before dinner, we had the place to ourselves.

The ribs? Fall-off-the-bone perfection, dusted with dry rub and packed with that strong smoke flavor I look for. Easily the star of the meal. The smoked sausage—a butterflied hot link with BBQ sauce and optional coleslaw—was good, just not quite rib-level good. The pulled chicken was tender and flavorful, but again, the ribs stole the show.

Both sides leaned a little sweet, but that didn’t stop me from cleaning my plate. Outdoor tables make it easy to enjoy your meal on site, and honestly, we’re already talking about swinging back on our way home just to grab more ribs to take with us.

If you’re anywhere near Tupelo, Mike’s BBQ House is worth the stop—especially on Friday Rib Day.

The hype is real. Most moist and delicious pulled pork shoulder ever had. Potato salad on sweet side was real nice. beans were good too. Only day to get ribs is Friday so didn’t try them but will make a trip back. No inside seating. Folks running the place are super nice.

This is the best tasting pulled pork BBQ that I have had anywhere in the country. It has some sort of special “burn” flavoring and is VERY moist. You don’t need the BBQ sauce. Although it isn’t bad, you don’t want to cover the flavor of the meat. The baked beans are pretty good, but not my favorite. The ribs are just okay, and can be topped by other local BBQ joints. The nachos are good, but nothing over the top. Just go with the pulled pork sandwich. Trust me.

The service is always great with plenty of conversation with the owner and his wife. They are very pleasant and down to earth.

The atmosphere is simple, and plain with no indoor seating available. There are two tables outside with 4 chairs each and maybe a picnic table under the side roof.

The dining room is open and you should be eating at Mike’s BBQ House right now! I ordered a BBQ sandwich plate with mac&chz and added a side of baked beans for only a dollar more. My lunch partner had the 5 rib plate with fries and fried okra, and we shared. It was incredibly good and we were both stuffed and took home to-go boxes. The mac&chz and baked beans were so delicious that we ordered helpings to-go after we finished our meal! The dining room was super clean, the owners were the nicest people, and we just can’t wait to go back. Our experience couldn’t have been better.

Hands down the best pull pork sandwich that I ever had. It was perfect, good seasoning, the slaw gave that crunchy element, and the bread was awesome too. Bake beans uuuff delicious. I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a long line of clients. Maybe the location. I really don’t know. But Congrats to Big Mike and his family.

Best BBQ we’ve ever had. Hands down.
The pulled chicken was moist and delicious and the pulled pork was amazing!! We got the potato salad and baked beans as our sides, and man – everything is fantastic. We even got to try some rib tips, which were also quite tasty and tender.

Friendly service and great people! We are soo glad we went off the beaten path a little to find Mike and his BBQ!

Service was great friendly couple. Food could have been a little better. Was expecting the ribs to have great flavor but a little disappointing. Beans were good coleslaw was pretty bland as well. Seating outside so better to grab it to go. Nachos were good. Brisket had a better taste.
