I grew up in Berwyn and we would order from Al’s in Cicero all the time. I remember going to eat there after my baptism. If my parents and I swam all day in the summer and they didn’t feel like cooking, it was a 50% chance we were ordering from Al’s.
I haven’t had it in years and now I’m pregnant and was craving it last night. I live in Bolingbrook now and was happy to find that this location would deliver to me.
I got most of my old favorites: baked clams, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed artichoke, and half a slab of ribs with steak fries. My boyfriend got some kind of pasta with chicken. Most everything still tasted great. I think the mushrooms might be different but I could be wrong. The BBQ sauce tasted different too but maybe it’s because I’m pregnant. I was still really happy with everything, just wished they had provided more BBQ on the side, a bigger portion of cole slaw, and butter on the bread.
The delivery driver was really great too which we appreciated.

$40 14” sliced tomato/garlic and order of calamari. I got barbecue sauce instead of marinara. Food was good. I do wish the crust was a little crispier, but I could always order well done next time. Rounding up from a 3.5

I love Al’s. Been eating it since the 70’s. This Al’s has always been good. So imagine my surprise when I ordered a large sausage pizza and a pint of minestrone soup. The minestrone soup was delicious. The pizza on the other hand was rushed. Was not even done. In fact when they tried to cut this pizza they should have known. The pizza was not cut all the way through because it was not done. It had big hunks of sausage on there which is not a bad thing, just did not look like an Al’s pizza I always order. Today is Sunday Bears are playing the Raiders.I called the order in at 3:46 and it was at my door on the fifth floor of my building at 4:25. Which would not have been a bad thing if my pizza was done. Very disappointed. Please do better next time. Mike . Update: the lady answering your phones and taking orders does an outstanding job. She is very pleasant, professional and good for your business. Fantastic service.

Classic dive joint. Expect dive joint food. If you are expecting best in your life pizza and beef this ain’t it. But what it is, is a classic dive with pizza that’s not too spicy. The beef can be a little chewy and dry just a bit, but the flavors alright. It’s all great for what it is. Just don’t expect anything fancy.

Driving through the area and needed lunch. I didn’t want to go to a fast food restaurant, but something local. Driving past many fast food restaurants we found Al’s Pizza. It was quick and really good . It was fun watching them make our pizza while we waited. Fresh and hot as we ate.

I had heard of stuffed style deep dish but had never tried one before, really enjoyed the pizza. We got sausage, giardenera, mushrooms, and extra cheese for toppings. Would definitely order again!
