Had a great, budget omakase here. Prices were budget but sushi was outstanding. Very fresh. We even ate things we wouldn’t normally have (raw shrimp and scallop). Service was great. The sushi bar seats twelve and there are two sushi chefs serving six guests each. It was very efficient. We were done in less than ninety minutes $115 for appetizer, 14 nigiri, a hand roll, and a dessert (plus a little rice bowl with uni and a very generous amount of ikura) is amazing.

Can’t say enough good things about this omakase experience! It was easily one of the best I’ve had in NYC to date and really had me feeling so full and satisfied at the end of the meal. It’s $115 for the 17 course meal and it was worth every penny. It’s about a 90 min dining experience and there’s only 12 seats. I went alone and it was a great experience. Definitely would love to go back with a larger group.

One of the best omakase experiences I’ve had by far. It was quitet and no frills. A lot of other omakase places focused on the “trendy vibe”, Sushi Kaito focuses on only good food and quality dining experience. All of the nigiri pieces were meticulously crafted by the sushi chef. The drinks are pricey, but the omakase was fairly priced and of high quality.

Really nice omakase, every bite was very good and no squid or octopus which was great. With a small sake bottle and a few extra pieces, it was $325 for two. Would definitely go back.

Perfect unpretentious omakase restaurant. We’ve been to many all over Manhattan and this is one of the best. Each piece was nicely presented and very tasty! The service was perfect . The sake was perfect. And the fish perfecto

It’s understated, small, not fancy decor – which makes it even more cool and desirable

Highly recommended

Lovely experience here! The table had a little name tag. All the fish were super fresh and the chef was able to make dietary accommodations. I loved the roe and uni especially. Great price for omakase and the quality is so good! The chef also asked if we were full by the end. You definitely get full!

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Sushi Kaito.
From start to finish, everything was outstanding.

The chef was incredibly kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can really feel the care and intention behind every single piece of sushi. The food itself was exceptional- unbelievably fresh, beautifully prepared, and bursting with flavor.

What truly stood out was the variety of fish. The selection was impressive, thoughtful, and perfectly curated, making the entire experience exciting and memorable. Every bite felt special, and the quality was consistently top-tier throughout the meal.
This is the kind of place that reminds you why omakase is an experience, not just dinner. It is absolutely worth it, and I would return without hesitation. I will definitely be recommending Sushi Kaito to all of my friends.

came here before of a promotion. Don’t know if it’s because of the promotion, the fish are not that good. First time got two salmon at omakase at this price level, one is even from Atlantic… someone who has allergies even got replace with one more salmon…. The chef at least broke two sushi, I got a broken unagi. Also almost half/half of the sushi are grilled… which is also very rare in my omakase experience. I don’t know the quality looks like is because of the event or it’s just their regular

Sushi Kaito is an omakase restaurant located in the Upper West Side.
• We experienced their 15-course tasting menu.
• Despite its simplicity, the restaurant offers high-quality fish and seafood.
• The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, though the presence of dusty plastic plants is a minor disappointment.
• Nevertheless, overall, it’s a positive experience.
• The staff is attentive and courteous.
