Stopped by a few times for a quick breakfast. They rotate through playful options from seasonal pumpkin spice to the now-ubiquitous Dubai chocolate. A lot of filled croissants around Greater Boston (places like Lakon Paris Patisserie and Tradesman Coffee Shop) tend to prioritize the fillings while the pastry itself ends up dry or lacking layers. Here, the croissants were slightly better.
So far, I’ve tried the Dubai Chocolate croissant and the Pumpkin Cheesecake croissant, and both were great. I usually roll my eyes at anything labeled ‘Dubai Chocolate’ these days, but this Dubai Chocolate croissant was pretty good. It reminded me of Lakon’s viral pastries, but the execution here was better. They used buttercream, and its chewy texture paired perfectly with the fillings. The pistachio crumble added a nice crunch too. At over $10, it’s an investment, but it’s the best flavored croissant I’ve tried so far in the GBA.
The Pumpkin Cheesecake Croissant went full-throttle on the toppings (pumpkin seeds, cream, and a tuille) even if the base pastry was just okay that day. And Strawberry Matcha was also unique. Instead of the usual lazy pump of syrup at the bottom of the cup, they crown it with a delicate strawberry milk foam.
Overall, a fun spot if you’re into decorative croissants. Prices run high, but the pastry quality is better than most filled versions around Boston.
We drove over an hour all the way from Rhode Island just to experience Bakey, and it was worth every mile! We visited with a group of family and friends and truly enjoyed everything we ordered. The atmosphere was perfect for a group, and the quality of the food absolutely lived up to the hype.
The pastries were so incredible that we couldn’t leave without grabbing a few croissants to take home for later. It is rare to find a place where every single item is a hit. If you’re debating the trip, just do it—we’ll definitely be making the drive back again!
Edit: went back the next day and had the ham and cheese croissant. I was super hungry and forgot to get a picture. Was super tasty.
We met the pastry chef as he was restocking and he was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions.
Stop in! Support local business and enjoy you a sweet treat!
The croissants were honestly very good, delicious actually. They have a plethora of different types of croissants, and even more other pastries. I’ll def go back to try more of the pastries.
My pistachio latte however, just was not it. They make it look so nice, but it’s literally diabetes in a cup. Idk what kind of sauce they drizzle in, but it looks like gelatin at the bottom of my cup. It was so sticky and thick. My straw kept jamming. Will definitely not be trying the coffee again. If you market as a specialty coffee spot you should be adding 2 shots of espressos to the drink. Otherwise, just market as diabetes in a cup.
I read reviews on how the service was bad. I experienced pretty good service. The food came out within a few minutes. It can get pretty busy, so a longer wait can be expected. That’s just how it works. And the workers seemed nice, I personally didn’t experience any rudeness.
Summary: Dope little spot with great ambiance. Go for the pastries! Not the coffee!
