This was our first time in Milford for a church conference and our pastor chose Big Oyster Brewery for dinner. The atmosphere was great, beautiful place, friendly, accommodating wait staff, and the food was delicious (With the exception of the Mac and cheese, it was bland). The ribs literally fell off the bone and collard greens were the best I’ve ever had….so much flavor and not bitter at all. The prices were very reasonable. Definitely a place I’d go back to if I ever was in the area again.

Great menu, plenty of options, and everyone’s food in our party of 6 was delicious. I had the cream of crab soup as an appetizer, and the salmon & bacon wrap with Brussels sprouts as my side (plenty of options besides fries). The ambience is great with views of the golf course in the rear dining areas and a virtual golf suite if interested.

Love this place! Great menu options! Especially love the outdoor area when the weather is nice! The Blue Steel Vodka is affordable and delicious! We like to couple that with the chicken, bacon and queso flatbread!

Second time visiting in 2 weeks, love the vibe. Food is delicious, fresh. Service is great. Haven’t taken the kids yet, but am looking forward to it, as they have a nice, clean kids play area. This will be one of our to go spots.

We enjoyed a surprise birthday celebration for my wife on February 28. There were approximately 40 in attendance. All complimented the service staff and the delicious food. Starting with appetizers of cheeses,bruchetta and two different salads got the evening off to a great start.The prime rib was the star of the evening and enjoyed by all. Tender,delicious and perfectly cooked and served. Everyone liked the option of the pasta station and the streetcorn with shrimp. The brussel sprouts,mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables complemented it all just right. Thank you for a great evening.

While out at dinner last night I was surprised with a little crab on my oyster that I thankfully didn’t eat. After putting it to the side it became alive and started moving. After showing our server and her showing their manager who told her this was normal with these oysters from where they come from I was disappointed in their response. We paid over $150 for our meal and to be surprised with this was very unappealing and unsettling to see and imagine if I had eaten that. I didn’t ask for oysters with live snow pea crabs. They should be removed before serving the oysters. I was highly turned off by this incident and no accountability was taken for this encounter. It’s a shame because our service was great and the remainder of our food was good. I know it wasn’t the servers fault so i didn’t want to push the issue with her. I’ve come here to let you know about my personal experience at your restaurant and to make sure others are aware to check their oysters or they may be surprised to eat a live snow pea crab which is “normal”.

about a year ago, i had gotten “the whole pig” mac n cheese bowl from the lewes locations, it was really good, creamy, and flavorful. i’m aware that restaurants differ from location to location and also stuff can change overtime, however, i made an order online at this location and when my boyfriend picked it up and brought it home, i ended up thinking it was the wrong order and we brought it back. it was so sad looking, especially when it costs $21 and my expectations from the first time i had it were so high. it was oddly sweet (i asked for no bbq sauce) there was very little cheese sauce, and it looked like soggy noodles with shredded cheese and bacon just thrown on it. they also forgot to put my side in the bag. everything else was ok at best. the order was set to finish at 6:35 and he got to the restaurant at around 6:40 so it didn’t sit for very long either. needless to say, if you’re planning on going to big oyster, i would definitely go to the lewes location over milford.

We rented the golf simulator room with some other couples. Its $75 an hour, which we knew ahead of time and we were fine with. It took us about 20 minutes just to figure out how to work it. Had to have someone come in and troubleshoot it and that individual seemed annoyed with having to help. LED/theme lights were not even plugged in so i moved the couches and plugged them in myself. At the end of the night we receive our check which had 20% gratuity added which would of been fine, however, the room rental was also included in the 20%. So just a heads up youre tipping your server for the room rental, as well as for the food. Our time was until 830, no one was booked behind us (we had previously confirmed this). At 840 we are sitting and finishing our drinks and they are telling us we are “10 minutes over”… so we rushed out. I thought this was rude, I’ve never been rushed out of a restaurant like that.. especially when there were tons of people still sitting and eating right on the other side of the wall in the restaurant area.
Drinks were good, food was mediocre. Appetizers- we got crab dip which was tasteless and didnt have much crab, I had to ask for extra old bay to give it some taste. We got crab cakes that were luke warm and brussel sprouts that were greasy and soggy. Collard greens were really good! I honestly should of sent the meal back, but now im glad I didnt because we would of ran out of time and not been able to eat it anyway.
Overall a subpar experience. Just wanted to share for anyone else thinking of doing the simulator room so you know what youre signing up for.

Really enjoyed the experience at Big Oyster. The food was excellent, as was the beer. Service was everything we could ask for. Attentive and forward thinking, asking if we wanted separate checks without us even asking for them.
