A small spot located in downtown Hayward is a great spot for some fresh and tasty sushi. I didn’t take picture of everything we ordered, but ordered chicken teriyaki, chirashi bowl, a special roll and nigiri. All were good quantities for the price. The place is small and tight space with only a few tables, but such a good spot. They do takeout as well!

Kansas hands down is a fantastic value in Hayward for Japanese food and you get very generous portions of food for the price paid! My husband got bento box with tempura and teriyaki beef and I got Chicken Katsu and teriyaki beef. My husband says the tempura is awesome it is not greasy like other tempura he has tried. There is so much in the bento box I don’t think we can eat it all in one sitting! The only drawback about Kansai is that it’s small and not a big building which I think their business could boom even more for dine in if they expand. My husband and I have been in person a couple of times and it’s not very wheel chair friendly but other than that we love Kansai

Ordered the lunch special (Sushi & Sashimi) for take-out and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size! At $30, I definitely felt I got my money’s worth. I also appreciate the freshness and thick cut of the sushi and appreciate that the California roll packed in crab meat (not just the fake kani meat). The meal also comes with a soup and salad, which is a classic complement to a Japanese lunch special.
Would definitely order again and may even stop in for a meal sometime!

The lion king was bomb. I also ordered the Fried Cali roll and Wendy. I’ve gone to Kaisendon in San Leandro and though this place has limited seating, the rolls were higher quality and the lion King was delicious

A tiny, and I mean tiny!, hole in the wall place that has superb sushi for very reasonable price. Recently discovered this place and been coming back regularly. The food has been very enjoyable every time. Hard to get a table during rush hour, so there’s a lot of takeout orders. Let’s keep on supporting good local places like this so we all can enjoy good food in Hayward.

Came in expecting basic Japanese but it was anything but, service was quick and friendly even though we came in about 30 minutes before close (sorry ). Food was amazing, veggie gyoza was on point, takoyaki was solid but not the tradition presentation but still yummy. Tonkatsu was fire, both the normal tuna and the shiro maguro were excellent and clearly very fresh. Also portions are great you definitely feel satisfied and like you paid for what you got.

Lovely little place, great service, everything is fresh and well presented. We’ve been here multiple times and enjoyed the food every time. Would recommend!

Came in and ordered 2 rolls and both were awesome. Always order deep-fried California rolls because everyone has their own spin to it, but also got Godzilla. The fry on both was great. Light and crisp. Service was great. Couple of separate vendors came in and the owner and server accommodated both. The atmosphere was light…very small space but perfect for one or two people.
