I went with the tacos. They were fairly bland. Nothing made me overly excited to have ordered them.
Now what I loved was the ambient temperature. I HATE how no matter how hot it is outside I have to carry a jacket with me because it’s always freezing cold inside in America. That wasn’t the case here. I had my jacket with me but I never needed it. It was a nice comfortable temperature inside.
The restroom was clean.
The interior design is 100% Dia de los Muertos, no Korean fusion in the art but it was still cool.
The bar looked well stocked. I bet it’s a fun place to have a drink with friends.
The service was okay.
my coworker and I went to this restaurant during our lunch break. We ordered the birria ramen. We each took one bite only to taste the food, and immediately noticed that it was extremely bland and had no flavor. The texture and taste were unpleasant. At that point, we stopped eating completely and our plates remained full.
We politely asked the waitress if anything could be done to improve the flavor or fix the dish. She returned to our table with only salt and pepper and placed them on the table. The food was still inedible. Because we did not eat the meal, we requested a replacement or a refund. That request was refused.
The waitress then brought out the manager. When the manager came to our table, instead of offering a solution, he began asking us personal questions, including, “What do you do for work?” While my friend on I wearing our scrubs. During this interaction, he stated, “We get those type of people all the time,” which made me feel targeted and disrespected. He then called my coworker a “single mother,” even though he does not know her and had no way of knowing her personal life. This statement was completely inappropriate and uncalled for.
He proceeded to call over a security guard, who was also Black. Even after doing that, the manager continued to make additional disrespectful and racially-charged comments toward me, while my Hispanic friend was the one speaking to him. His behavior felt hostile and discriminatory, and I truly believe that his actions and words were motivated by race and stereotyping.
At no point did the manager offer a professional or reasonable solution. The only things offered were salt, pepper, and hot sauce. The situation escalated unnecessarily, and we were made to feel humiliated and unwelcome in the restaurant.
We did not eat the food. Our plates remained full. We were still expected to pay for it despite the poor quality of the food and the unacceptable treatment we received.
