Dining here was a mixed bag. First, I expected more fusion. It’s not really a fusion restaurant. You can order tex-mex OR you can order Korean but the only real fusion on the menu is two taco choices or one meal.

I went with the tacos. They were fairly bland. Nothing made me overly excited to have ordered them.

Now what I loved was the ambient temperature. I HATE how no matter how hot it is outside I have to carry a jacket with me because it’s always freezing cold inside in America. That wasn’t the case here. I had my jacket with me but I never needed it. It was a nice comfortable temperature inside.

The restroom was clean.

The interior design is 100% Dia de los Muertos, no Korean fusion in the art but it was still cool.

The bar looked well stocked. I bet it’s a fun place to have a drink with friends.

The service was okay.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting northern Virginia and was really surprised. Had probably the best fajita beef tacos I’ve ever eaten. Very clean, courteous service and fair prices. If you’re in the area this is a must visit restaurant.

Love their tamales (even without salsa or sauce) and several other dishes—but service is painfully slow. I’ve rarely been able to place an order within 20 minutes of sitting down, even with just one other table occupied. Food often takes over 30 minutes, and too often it arrives cold. Young waitresses seem nice enough—think it’s just a training issue. I’d come here all the time if not for these issues.

Food was ok, tacos can be more flavorful, tortillas were a little bland with no taste. Elote was not grilled simply buttered up. Aguas frescas were really good and refreshing. Complementary chips and salsa were good. ‍ ️ Atmosphere music was waaaay to loud, could barely hear partner across table. Probably not coming back unless food quality improves.

Taco Ssam is great!!! Happy hour from 4-8 every day,(no one does that) , Food is authentic mexican style ,with some korean infused dishes. I recommend the Quesadillas as they are stuffed with meat unlike other places. If you are into Bourbon or Tequila, their is a huge selection not just the same old stuff everyone else has. Waitresses are very friendly. 10/10

Taco Ssam was good. Besides the fusion, there was nothing special or mind blowing about it in my opinion. The taste was good, the quality was good but I felt there was something missing that could have made the restaurant more unique and special.

Looks like a festive place to spend time in. Had to try the Korean Mexican tacos with kimchi and bulgogi flavors. They did not disappoint. Also ordered rhe quesadillas and carne asada platters. Would return here for happy hour time. A little annoyed to be forced to tip 20% on a takeout order. Didnt want to leave a zero tip either. A bit of a conundrum.

If you’re black do not go here. Owner is extremely racist even though it’s a Hispanic restaurant. Owner is Asian he was racist towards my Hispanic friend as well.

my coworker and I went to this restaurant during our lunch break. We ordered the birria ramen. We each took one bite only to taste the food, and immediately noticed that it was extremely bland and had no flavor. The texture and taste were unpleasant. At that point, we stopped eating completely and our plates remained full.

We politely asked the waitress if anything could be done to improve the flavor or fix the dish. She returned to our table with only salt and pepper and placed them on the table. The food was still inedible. Because we did not eat the meal, we requested a replacement or a refund. That request was refused.

The waitress then brought out the manager. When the manager came to our table, instead of offering a solution, he began asking us personal questions, including, “What do you do for work?” While my friend on I wearing our scrubs. During this interaction, he stated, “We get those type of people all the time,” which made me feel targeted and disrespected. He then called my coworker a “single mother,” even though he does not know her and had no way of knowing her personal life. This statement was completely inappropriate and uncalled for.

He proceeded to call over a security guard, who was also Black. Even after doing that, the manager continued to make additional disrespectful and racially-charged comments toward me, while my Hispanic friend was the one speaking to him. His behavior felt hostile and discriminatory, and I truly believe that his actions and words were motivated by race and stereotyping.

At no point did the manager offer a professional or reasonable solution. The only things offered were salt, pepper, and hot sauce. The situation escalated unnecessarily, and we were made to feel humiliated and unwelcome in the restaurant.

We did not eat the food. Our plates remained full. We were still expected to pay for it despite the poor quality of the food and the unacceptable treatment we received.

Got the Korean fusion tacos and they were AMAZING!! All the meats are very flavorful. Happy hour has two menus one is 50% off and 30% off. Drinks are ok, it’s a bit sweet. Highly recommend going for the Korean fusion tacos! Our waiter remembered all of our orders. Would definitely come again.

Another hidden gem imo, place wasn’t packed, so we sat at the bar. Bartender took our drink order n drinks were on point. So many selections of top shelf liquor and not as expensive as other restaurants. Tacos were delicious as well!! Highly recommend. Also, the fried ice cream was great.
