I placed an order to pick up at noon on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
I was in an appointment at work that ran a little longer than planned. I got a call from the bakery around 12:45 and the woman I spoke with was irritated that I wasn’t there at noon. I understand that a scheduled pick up time is a commitment. However, things happen sometimes and I knew they had posted on their Facebook page that they were open until 2:00pm that day, so I knew I still had time to pick up.
I work on Main Street, so I rushed over within 5 minutes. There was a man with his daughter at the counter talking with the woman working. They had already been cashed out and the woman made eye contact with me and then continued talking with them for another 3-5 minutes, until the man seemed uncomfortable that I was still standing there waiting, and he and his daughter left.
The woman acknowledged me and had my order there on the counter ready to go. She then decided to share her frustration again and told me that she was trying to close early and because I wasn’t there at noon, she wasn’t able to. Had she called earlier in the day to share that, I would have made sure someone got there on time to pick up my order. I apologized again and left a 30% tip.
I was made to feel guilty and like I was the sole reason she wasn’t able to close early and that didn’t sit right with me. My co-workers, family, and friends all love this bakery and the owners are wonderful. I’m not sure who the woman was working that day, but she needs to work on her customer service skills and do better the next time she’s frustrated with a customer.

I have been to a lot of doughnut places in my life, some acclaimed, some chain, but there is nothing like the Chelsea Bakery plain glazed doughnut. Just the right amount of glaze graces this perfectly fried ring of happiness. It is SO light and fluffy, but doesn’t just dissolve like some other brands available in stores. I always want to take a photo of it, but it never makes it past the car ride home.

Best donuts ever! Fresh and melt in your mouth. Coffee that tastes really good, not terribly strong like other places. Very kind owners.

We really enjoy the donuts and other baked goods at Chelsea Bakery. When we visit family in Tucson, AZ we have been unable to find donuts as good as we get here. The owners/staff are personable and remember us. It’s nice to say “the usual” and they know what we like to order. I like the art on the walls and have purchased from some of these artists. Over all a great place!

We love snagging donuts and pretzels here! No way around it, best sweets in town. Good vibes, kind staff and the food definitely reflects the care put into it. Try the bear claws they are the best I’ve had.

This bakery has AMAZING donuts. The glazed donuts are fluffy and just the right amount of sweet and the people I meet there are always just as sweet! They also have some really cool paintings that support small artists up in the shop which creates a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a good idea to get there early cause everyone wants these donuts.

Not having been to Chelsea in several years, we arrived at the bakery at closing so only had a chance to purchase a pack of chocolate chip cookies (my choice among many other delicious looking choices!). Fabulous customer service and fabulous cookies!

We received a delivery from a good friend with doughnuts and chocolate chip cookies. It was a delicious package to receive. I haven’t been to the location to review the staff, but I’m sure they’re as amazing as their baked goods. Chocolate chip cookies were fresh, soft and chewy. The doughnuts were as good as they looked. I will definitely be paying a visit to this location!

Chelsea Bakery has the best donuts and the friendliest people you could hope to meet. I’ve eaten a lot of donuts and pastries from all over, and these are truly the best I’ve found anywhere. The custard long john is outstanding—the combination of donut and custard just melts in your mouth. Honestly, everything here is worth the trip. And don’t miss the pretzel rolls with ham and cheese—they’re fantastic!
