My first time here was a Pleasant one . I had to limit pepper Chicken Along with sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese with greens and a ginger beer. Food was great , my favorite was Lemon pepper, chicken yams, and greens were on point. Just my personal opinion, the macaroni and cheese could’ve had a Little more seasoning, but it was good. The young lady that also took my order was very pleasant. I’m glad I found this spot. It could be my Sunday dinner for when I don’t wanna cook. Thanks again guys.

Did not disappoint food was cooked to order. Owner was here was extremely friendly and had plenty of suggestions. I got the oxygen tails so flavor, .. we also order 3 wing and waffles and pancakes, eggs and bacon. I liked that there was options to picked a sides.
This place is difently place i would come back to try everything on the menu.

I visited this restaurant regularly years ago but once leadership changed the environment and quality changed. So I thought well let’s give it a try. The first no no was when I resisted my muddy water with more tea than lemonade as I always do the owner/host argued with me about how the ratio should be. She eventually remade it but remade it the same way, then put the old one in the fridge I guess to give to someone else. Wow! Then my food came with hair in the plate, again wow! Took this plate back along with the sides. Instead of serving both me and the other party together she brought theirs so they were almost done eating before I got mine. I actually requested another corn muffin in which you would have thought because of the mishaps on their part would have been complimentary, you would have thought some kind of discount would be applied… well no! Down to the drink to the muffin, I was charged. The peach cobbler is garbage no it was straight garbage. I stopped going for a reason. The food is ok sometimes depending on the cook but it is the owner host who will sink that ship she has no customer relations experience. She did nothing to rectify her errors to satisfy the paying customer. Nothing! I won’t be back this time! Done. This is supposed to be peach cobbler (pic) yuck

Nice little diner with good food. I ordered the seafood platter. Large portions of everything. The service was very good! Very attentive and the owner got all our names right. Calling us out like we were old friends. Definitely coming back for breakfast!

Very nice experience. Good take out portion sizes. The beans&rice, mac&cheese, mix cabbage with greens and the fried chicken, plus corn muffins was smooth, seasoned, clean, hot and tasty..

What a great way to kick off the new year by dining here at this awesome restaurant. The vibe is very much, we serve home-made dishes, have a nice attitude, decent appetite, and be relaxed as you dine because you’ll feel at home; dining with family and friends. The service was splendid. They were prompt, friendly and consistent from begining to end. The food was delicious and it was even more special to hear about some bits of the recipes behind the amazing dishes served there. Will def go back again to try their breakfast and dinner. Compliments to the chef, owner and rest of the Matthew’s Home staff/family.

Despite finding MOLD on the bread in my catfish po’boy, I’m giving this place a 3-star rating because the customer service was exceptional. Both the waitress and chef were very kind and accommodating.

Some of the best southern food I’ve had. I ordered the catfish and they grilled it for me upon request and it was 10/10. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. I’m not a huge fan of potato salad in general but wanted to try it out, don’t eat enough to give it a rating. Husbands fried catfish was 10/10, collard greens 10/10 (best he’s ever had), rice and beans 10/10. Mac and cheese 4/10 – wasn’t as cheesy as he would have liked and a bit bland to what he’s used to. Staff were friendly. You can tell they cook everything fresh too. Definitely will be coming back to try more dishes.
