Last Saturday (1/4/26) me and Quater went to the Grounds Pizza located at St Croix national golf course. He said Witt’s was working there so we’re going to check it out. I ordered the grounds burger or the award-winning Burger smashburger double Patty. I have to tell you this burger was awesome it was still pink in the middle and juicy and wonderful even though it was a smashburger. Quater ordered the shrimp scampi linguine pasta with focaccia toast on the side. He said it was very tasty super good. The bar has a super good selection of high-end whiskeys and Bourbons. I saw Pappy Van Winkle on the top shelf. I saw groups of people walking in the front door with their golf clubs. To my surprise they have indoor golf there, they have about six video screens.

We have been going to the grounds bar and restaurant for a while now and we are still amazed every time we go. The food is always impeccable (they had a apple salad for vday! I ordered it 2x it was so freaking good) the staff and owner are absolutely wonderful human beings! They care about what they do and it shows. The atmosphere is calming, welcoming and you dont feel rushed at all. 10/10

It is a kid friendly place. They had a kids menu and high chairs available.
The atmosphere was laid back and positive. Depending on where you were seated you could watch people use the golf simulators or watch your pizza/drinks being made. All of the staff were friendly and looked like they enjoyed their job!

Stopped here with a group of friends for a dinner and drinks! Food was pretty good. The cheese curds were good. The spicy chicken sandwich was decent. The pizza was very good! Bloody Mary was probably my favorite thing here so far! We will definitely be back soon to try some more of the menu!

There on Friday evening for the fish fry. The staff were nice. We were told the fish fry was 2 four oz cod filets. I’m a restaurant guy and those were definitely not 4oz filets. The fries were good but very stingy, one of our baskets had 12 fries in it, the other had twice that. The coleslaw was served in a 2oz deli soufflé, again stingy…the slaw had no dressing, coarse shredded cabbage and carrots dry. Two fish fry’s, two cocktails $80 including the 20% tip we always leave. My date 60 years in St. Croix county was looking forward to trying The Grounds and a big fan of the Wisconsin fish fry said it was the chintziest fish fry she’s ever had. Do better.

This is a complete hidden gem, the woodfire pizzas were terrific, as were the cocktails.
Considering they have golf simulators and very nice mini golf course where kids 10 and under play free it has something for everyone.
Patio has amazing views and conference room for 6-10 people for business meetings.

Our experience was incredible! Very accommodating staff and family friendly. Emily was a star server and made us feel at home! The pineapple pizza is special and the chocolate cake was SO GOOD.
