If there was 0 Stars, I would have picked that. Bad experience from the minute my fiancée and I walked into the establishment…. sign says please wait to be seated, no one in sight, not even at the hostess station. We walk further in and the bartender from the bar says “oh hi!” We walk to the bar and are askedif we would like to be seated. We agreed to sit at the bar to make it easier as there was no one else in the establishment. Then we were asked what we would like to drink. I ordered my normal Windsor Sprite/7up with a splash of cherry juice/grenadine, bartender pours in the grenadine, proceeds to add the Sprite/7up and then asks what the whiskey I wanted. When he couldn’t find Windsor because they didn’t have it, I asked him what whiskey he had, he pulls rail whiskey and didn’t know what else they had as far as what whiskey they had, my fiancée had to tell him what whiskey to use because he was unsure. My fiancee order a Maple Bourbon old Fashion, was asked if she wanted it sour or sweet… and what kind of liquor… Maple bourbon old fashion should be sweet with bourbon. I drank half my drink, couldn’t even taste the whiskey; my fiancée only drank 1/4 of her drink and we left.
Our stomachs were turned by the drinks.

Was nervous going here because of last review and there was no one there. They don’t have a huge menu but oh man was thr food good. We had great service but was also the only one there.

Celebrated my 30th birthday here. It is under new management and has changed hands many times over the years. Love the renovation, small private room though. Fits 20 comfortably which can be on the small side coming from a big family, bar helped for overflow though and more workable space anyway. Great appetizers, pizza and very helpful staff!

Lovely place to eat with first class service and food that’s a little different. For my fish and chips, I had beer battered perch, which is unusual because it’s usually a sea fish, rather than a freshwater fish. But it was cooked to perfection. No soft bits of batter and a delicious tarragon remoulade. Highly recommended.

Ordered the loaded fries they were great, ordered the ribeye, wasn’t well seasoned and tasted bland but the cook did bring out seasoning after we said something about it. The waiter came to our table once and the rest of the time the person I was with had to get up and find the wait staff when we needed something. The place was very clean however.

We waited 25-30 minutes for our food which showed up cold. The hamburger patties were overcooked and tasteless. The medium eggs where also overcooked and cold. The steak tacos were 50% fat. Which we had to dig through to get to the meat. When the general manager/cook lady came out to speak to us, she told us ” we where entiteled to our own opinions” in terms of what is fat, and that ” it looks like you ate most of it” with the large pile of fat on the side of the plate. She walked away from us as were we still speaking to her, after she barley helped fix the issue. She snarkly told us that waiting 15 minutes for our food is standard for non fast food. Do not come to this restaurant if you are expecting warm food or a welcomed opinion.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night for an event in Marshfield. Since there was no continental breakfast with our hotel stay, we decided to order takeout from The Rivers and eat in our room.
I looked up the menu online, before I called.
When I started to place my order, I was told that the menu has changed and what I wanted to order is no longer available. I let the person know that this menu is on their own website, so maybe someone should make an update. I was told it was up to the upper management to do.
I proceeded to order, looking at different things on the old menu and was told that pretty much everything I wanted was no longer available.
I asked the person on phone what they do offer and ended up ordering ham, cheese & mushroom omelet with hashbrowns, and steak & egg breakfast plus coffee, with cream and sugar.
I asked how long will it take and the person said that they don’t know because there is a new cook… I was ready to cancel my order and I regret not doing so. We agreed that the restaurant will call me once the food is ready.
It took 30 minutes on Sunday morning to get the food ready. My husband walked downstairs to pick it up. To my surprise, he came back with just one box. There was no omelet. They forgot half of our order! The coffee was black – no cream or sugar.
The steak & egg breakfast was beyond grease. They asked me how I wanted my steak done (I requested medium), but the meat was so thin, that it was cooked to “well done”. There was only one yolk, so I assume one egg. The menu states 2 eggs with this dish.
Why am I taking the time to write all of this? Because you can’t make it up.
Do yourself a favor and don’t order takeout from The Rivers. The dine-in experience may be different, but for takeout this was my worst experience ever. Thankfully, we were not charged for the missing omelet, which makes me wonder if the person who took my order over the phone has ever done it before. Looks like half of the order was lost. Or maybe someone else got it?
