Very good! I didn’t expect a whole lot from a Mexican restaurant in New Iberia, but El Mexicano was delicious. The atmosphere could be better, but the food and service more than make up for it. I recommend this place if you are in the area.

The ice machine is coming out an old rusty machine so if u order a beverage it won’t taste right… But they will DEFINITELY Charge for it even after u complain. Hell y complain at all? Cause they will definitely charge u for EVERYTHING! ♀️THEY NASTY!

I finally had time to return here. I had the Birria Tacos, I’m so glad to finally find these locally and they didn’t disappoint. Very flavorful, and juicy! One of my new Mexican favorites for sure. I have to try them every time I see them. I changed them to flour tortillas and were amazing. Give them a try! I also had a frozen house margarita. They are more limey than I prefer but not bad and pack a little punch. Must come back for more tacos! Enjoy!

Every time I’ve come, I’ve been mostly pleased with my food. Today was vastly different. I ordered take out for lunch. Birria tacos. They were horrible. Soggy and the consume looked like grease. Definitely disappointed.

This place has some amazing food! The prices are really good and the quality is a lot better than most Mexican restaurants. For the most part, the service is excellent. We have had one or two times that the service was lacking, but the food outweighs those few times.

This place has the most nastiness food i ever had. They was telling me that I got fajita meat when it was not fajita meat. Charged me almost $20.00 for a fajita salad. That is outrageous for a salad. Would not waste my time or money there again. I wouldn’t even give them one star.

If you enjoy Tex-Mex and not actual authentic Mexican food this place will be fine for you. If you’re looking for the real deal look elsewhere. Birria was weak, Tacos are American and Rice and Refried beans were sub par at best.
