Amazing food with rich, authentic flavors and generous portions. The Kobida kabob and mantu were outstanding, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. A must-visit if you love great food and genuine hospitality.

I’m visiting Buffalo and to my shock and delight there’s a Persian restaurant!!! Ordered twice from here the meat is incredibly fresh, I look for it to not be gamey, and not so much as a bite of weird texture. I hope this place keeps on for a while cause it is delicious- thank you to the owners you made my trip!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE EXPERIENCE — PLEASE READ BEFORE DINING IN

This was our third visit to this restaurant, and while the food has always been great, what happened today was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

My uncle’s family and I went for dinner and ordered a lot of food — honestly, we had so many dishes that I didn’t even get pictures of everything, except one. Our total bill came to around $425. We paid by card and left a $40 tip. While we were sitting and drinking tea afterward, a waitress who wasn’t even our server (a young man had served our table the entire time) suddenly came over and told my uncle, in front of the whole family, that he should have tipped at least $70 instead of $40.

Even though we were shocked by her behavior, my uncle still gave her an additional $30 in cash. A few minutes later, the same waitress returned, put the $30 back on the table, and said, “If you don’t want to tip, that’s fine, we don’t want it.” Then she walked away. We left the money on the table anyway because we genuinely wanted to tip.

We’ve come to this restaurant multiple times and have even recommended it to friends, but after today, we won’t be returning. We came to celebrate and enjoy our meal, not to be disrespected and lectured over a tip — especially by someone who didn’t even serve our table.

The food is good, but the service we experienced today was incredibly rude and unprofessional. The owner should really pay attention to how the staff treats paying customers. If you still want to try their food, I recommend takeout or ordering through UberEats/DoorDash, but I do not recommend dining in.

underperformed and underwhelmed. When we got there we should have known something was wrong considering it was empty at 6pm. Big place and it’s clean but it’s extremely awkward. Waiter didn’t speak to us not even smile. Biggest issue is we ordered masala fries and got served plain fries that probably took 3 minutes to air fry and I told my husband not to pay for them but unfortunately we’re not those people. Why would I order plain fries??? Crazy. The best part was the white sauce and the water. Never coming back. GO TO SOFRA RESTAURANT

Saffron Kitchen is truly a gem. The food is incredible — deeply flavorful, beautifully prepared, and clearly influenced by Middle Eastern cuisine with what I’m told is a Persian touch that makes it even more special.

The saffron tea alone is worth the visit — so warming, fragrant, and comforting. It feels like something meant to be savored slowly.

The space itself is large and thoughtfully laid out. Even though it’s a big restaurant, it never feels overwhelming or too noisy. It’s comfortable, welcoming, and easy to enjoy your meal without distraction. The staff is always pleasant and kind, which adds to the experience.

Their desserts are also excellent — a perfect way to end the meal.

They have a spacious area for parties and banquets as well, which would be beautiful for gatherings or celebrations.

I’m already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.

We had dinner there on 3/6/2026. I had saffron chicken kebab, companion had Gheimeh, a lamb-lentil stew. Both were superb! Doesn’t serve wine, but we brought ours, and they provided cute glass teacups to drink from. Quiet, great place to converse. Room is lovely. Service attentive but not intrusive.

I had the pleasure of dining at Saffron Kitchen earlier this evening, and it was truly a standout experience. The interior architecture is stunning – an impressive fusion of Buffalo’s old, beautiful building architecture with the vibrant, traditional flavors of Afghan and Persian cuisine. It feels like stepping into a space where history meets a fresh, exciting culinary chapter for the city.

The food was amazing! The spices and flavors were rich, bold, and perfectly balanced. Easily the most authentic Persian/Afghan dishes I’ve had at a Western NY restaurant.

The service was also fantastic…friendly, respectable staff and the chef even came out to greet us which made the night feel extra special.

In short: if you’re looking for a place where authenticity, flavor, and a gorgeous setting meet, Saffron Kitchen is unbeatable. I can’t wait to go back!

I can’t recommend this place enough! I was stuffed even though I wanted to eat more! I went with a group of friends and we ordered multiple dishes so we could try everything. We got the koobideh kabob, chicken tikka kabob, qabli palow, and the gheimeh for an entree. We also tried the masala fries, saffron tea, sheer chai, the rice pudding, the custard, and baklava! Everything was well seasoned and the spicy green sauce and yoghurt sauce we were given went great with all the entrees! I can’t wait to take others here! The ambiance is so nice and the servers and owners were so friendly!

Saffron Kitchen is hands down one of the best hidden gems in Buffalo for Persian and Afghan food. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and authentic. You can tell right away this place takes pride in their culture and cuisine.

The food speaks for itself — flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The kabobs are juicy and well-seasoned, the rice is fragrant and fluffy, and their saffron touches elevate every dish. I highly recommend trying the Joojeh and Koobideh both were tender and packed with flavor. The portions are generous, and you can tell everything is made with care.

The service is friendly, and the staff are happy to explain the menu if you’re unfamiliar with Persian or Afghan dishes. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

If you’re craving something different and authentic in Buffalo, Saffron Kitchen is absolutely worth checking out. I’ll definitely be back.
